Committee members are a mix of local activists, artists, farmers, writers and more, including Aine O’Regan, Bernadette Malone, Colin Johnston, Éilís Murphy, Eve Campbell, Francis Whelan, Sarah O’Brien, Tadgh O’Sullivan, Tony Kirby, William Hederman. X-PO is a not-for-profit space where all our events are free, ensuring that X-PO is open and accessible to all. We have a wonderful intergenerational mix of visitors aged 1 - 99 years old, creating an important space in the social fabric of North Clare. We are always looking for volunteers to get involved with anything from organising new events to helping make tea! If you would like to volunteer or have an idea that you’d like to make happen, please email [email protected] or chat to one of the X-PO organisers at the next event. Nick Geh is the guest speaker at X-PO's next heritage talk on
April 30th at 8.30 p.m. The talk is entitled 'Another Eye -The Burren
from the Air".

Nick moved to Gort from England 30 years ago to live out his
passion of caving in the Burren region. Since then he has also been
exploring the Burren from on high in his microlight aircraft.
In that time, he has amassed thousands of photographs of the region.

Nick will showcase a sample of his collection in the X-PO lecture. It
promises to be an evening of unique perspectives of the Burren landscape
and it's archaeology.

The event is free of charge. Donations to X-PO welcome.

The next heritage talk in X-PO Killinaboy takes place on Thursday March 26th at 8.30 p.m. The guest speaker is Robin Sheen and the talk is entitled ‘Abode of the Clouds - The Underworld of North East India'.

The talk will focus on the remarkable international caving expedition to the "Abode of the Clouds" in North East India. The multi-national expedition team has had Irish involvement for the past 25 years.

The project began exploration in Maghalaya, a part of the world that was not considered at that time to be a major caving area, in 1992. The total length of known and mapped passage now exceeds 550 kms. Large shafts up to 150m deep are a plenty, huge relic passages seem to be ongoing, cave entrances drop in to stunning stream ways and nearby coal mines prove irresistible to the curious expedition members.

Robin Sheen is originally from Bristol. He has been living and caving in the Burren for 45 years. Robin has been a member of many international caving expeditions including his ongoing participation in the Abode of the Clouds Project.

Admission to the event is free. Donations to X-PO welcome.
