Just under a week to go!
Cavan Community Cinema brings a special screening of Born That Way to the Townhall Arts Centre — a tender, thought-provoking film about care, love, community and the extraordinary life of Patrick Lydon.
Where: Townhall Arts Centre, Cavan
When: Saturday 26th September, 7PM
Free Booking: Register at https://cavanartsfestival.ie/ to reserve your seat 📩
Patrick Lydon's story takes us from his early days in rock journalism in America to a life of trailblazing in Ireland alongside his wife, Gladys — pioneering the radically inclusive Camphill Movement and a life shared in community with people of all abilities and backgrounds. As Patrick reflects on his extraordinary journey in his final year, his story becomes a powerful reminder of what's possible when we choose connection over consumerism. 🌟
Stick around after the film for a Q&A with filmmaker Éamon Little (co-writer of That They May Face the Rising Sun), Patrick's wife Gladys, and John Clark, co-founder of Camphill Ballytobin and the film's composer.
🏆 Winner, Dublin Film Critics' Circle Best Irish Documentary (2025 World Premiere)
🏆 Winner, Gamble-Paison Prize for Best International Feature Film, Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival (2026)
With less than a week to go, seats are going fast — don't miss it on the big screen! 👀
