Congratulations to John Cosgrove on winning the Dinny O Brien Trophy last night for the first time in a thrilling 3-2 final. John won this one the hard way with scalps over Neill Brady, Derek Gibbons and Brian so a lot to take confidence from before the handicapper steps in 🤣 Tough lines to Brian Cunningham who fought all the way until the final pink ball. Always a solid match player who no doubt will bounce back in the new season come September. Thank you to Kieran McMahon once again for ref duties. Always willing to lend his time for finals. Also to Pat O Brien for presenting the cup on behalf of his late father Dinny. Many thanks Pat.

See you all again in September but before that we will proudly pick up our “Club of the year” award next weekend in SBI headquarters in Carlow. 🙌🏻

A huge thank you to SB Ireland for awarding us the club of the year award at their annual end of year awards.

This is an amazing achievement for our little club in Cavan. Over the past few years we have really put a big effort into providing the best possible conditions for our playing members. Kudos to Chairman Martin Sexton and his committee in leading the way in this regard.

Last year Ken Doherty made a special appearance at the club also where everyone in attendance had a fantastic evening.

A number of our members are constant players in SB Ireland events with Aaron Goldrick winning the national century tour event only last year and is currently a semi finalist in this years as he bids to defend his crown.

Luke Mundy a top junior player has come close also in many events and his first title isn’t far away.

We as a club are thrilled to have won this award and would like to take this opportunity to thank all at SBI for this recognition. 👏🏻
