Closing date for entering for the Radharc Awards 2026 is Monday the 7th of September!!

Entries are invited under two categories:

Category One:
An award for Irish-produced television documentaries broadcast for the first time on any free to air channel on the island of Ireland between 3 September 2024 to 2 September 2026.
Category Two:
An award for documentaries produced in Ireland for first time digital distribution on a publicly accessible platform between 3 September 2024 to 2 September 2026.
Please note: Category Two is open to entries in long or short-form, and also considers work from non-professional, student, and civil organisations.

Applications are open for Irish Hospice Foundation's Arts and Culture - Bereavement and Grief training course!

This part-time blended course, running over two full weekends and four mid-week evenings, explores the many roles of arts and culture in contemporary dying, grief, and bereavement. It is designed to raise awareness and understanding, while providing an introduction to basic skills.

The application deadline is 16th September 2026 at 5:00pm. Notification of places will be on or before 29th September 2026.

The course runs 24th October to 8th November

Culture Night returns this month on the 18th September 2026.

“One Night For All,” Culture Night offers free cultural events across Mayo from 4pm until late. From music, visual art, food, film, literature and dance, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Disrupt Disability Arts Festival CLG is seeking 3 new Board members to help lead our organisation into the next chapter. Especially if you hold 5+ years’ experience in any of the areas below, have lived experience of disability and/ or a clear understanding of disability rights:

✨Artistic and Sector Leadership - senior experience within the arts sector and a strong understanding of the contemporary disability arts landscape.

✨Accounting Expertise - specifically in non-profit company accounting.

✨Legal Expertise - specifically in company and employment law.

These are voluntary roles for a 3-year term (2026–2029) to support shaping Disrupt’s strategic direction.

Undercurrent presents Cultural Dance Celebration Workshop

No previous experience needed. All welcome!

A fun workshop and dance share event open to all ages. Come and join us for this intergenerational and intercultural event celebrating the joy of community and culture!

Fun inclusive meet and greet warm up games, are followed by African, Hip Hop and Passinho dance introductory sessions. The last part of the workshop brings us to Irish Sean Nos followed by a circle dance. The event closes with a Cultural Dance Share open floor for facilitators and participants to share their favourite dance styles and cultural heritage.

MIXING IT UP! Bring a tune for your dance! Participants are welcome to bring a cultural dance style of their own to share at the end of the workshop.

Workshop Facilitators

Kate Wilson, Undercurrent Artistic Director, will be inviting everyone into the space with a gentle warm up and some energy generating games. Along with ‘breaking the ice’ activities this short session will get us warmed up, and moving and connecting in a fun inclusive atmosphere

Cynthia Siberry (Ireland & Zimbabwe) brings high-energy Southside dance styles from Africa, filled with rhythmic footwork, dynamic moves, and pure soul. Her teaching is all about laughter, energy, and sharing the joy of dance.

Josué Reis (Ireland & Brazil) will introduce the world of hip-hop social dance, exploring party dances, grooves as well as a taster in Passinho, a Brazilian dance style born in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro through the culture of funk carioca

August Kirwin (Ireland & Canada) has a Sean Nos practice rooted in cultural and community dance. Some background to Sean Nos along with core steps and rhythms will develop into fun partner and group dances to finish.

Explore the works by Val McLoughlin & Oisín Tozer in Ballina Arts Centre.

Val’s Quarters refers to the fact that most of the studies for these paintings were created on the banks of the Moy throughout the four seasons.

In the Pale Light of a Shadow by Oisín is an installation that explores how we perceive and relate to the world, particularly nature.

Ballina Arts Centre galleries are open Tue to Sat from 10am until 6pm. Admission Free.
