Fr. Mathew Players - New Inn Award winning drama society based in New Inn Tipperary. This adaptation of the original by the Fr.

The shaughraun is a melodrama written by Dion
Boucicicault, it was first performed at the Wallack theatre, New York on the 14th November 1874,
the play centres around Robert Ffolliot who has returned to Ireland after escaping from transportation in Australia, but is found not to be a fenian fugitive, but an innocent local gentleman who was tricked into pledging himself to a criminal, intent on b

etraying him to the authorities. However all is not lost, with the aide of his best friend “Conn the Shaughraun” the roguish local poacher, musician, and general life and soul of any wedding or wake, which provides much of the comic relief throughout. Mathew Players, New Inn includes music, song and dance as befitting the time, story, and general interpretation of the play. It promises to be a great night of theatre for all the family. As always we look forward to opening night and appreciate your support.
