Fr. Mathew Players - New Inn

Fr. Mathew Players - New Inn Award winning drama society based in New Inn Tipperary. This adaptation of the original by the Fr.

The shaughraun is a melodrama written by Dion
Boucicicault, it was first performed at the Wallack theatre, New York on the 14th November 1874,
the play centres around Robert Ffolliot who has returned to Ireland after escaping from transportation in Australia, but is found not to be a fenian fugitive, but an innocent local gentleman who was tricked into pledging himself to a criminal, intent on b

etraying him to the authorities. However all is not lost, with the aide of his best friend โ€œConn the Shaughraunโ€ the roguish local poacher, musician, and general life and soul of any wedding or wake, which provides much of the comic relief throughout. Mathew Players, New Inn includes music, song and dance as befitting the time, story, and general interpretation of the play. It promises to be a great night of theatre for all the family. As always we look forward to opening night and appreciate your support.

๐ŸŽญ World Theatre Day

On stages bright in towns and halls,
Where stories rise and curtain calls,
Across our festivals, far and wide,
The drama spirit lives with pride.

To every group who takes the stage,
Whose passion shines in every age,
Your work, your heart, your stories told,
Are what make theatre brave and bold.

And as a drama community, we stand,
Connecting voices across the land -
So take a seat, or take the stage,
Be part of the story, be part of the page. โœจ

Happy World Theatre Day from The Amateur Drama Council of Ireland ๐ŸŽญ

And just like thatโ€ฆ the house lights are down for the final time. ๐ŸŽญโœจ

On Saturday we took our final bow, and we are still buzzing from the energy in that hall. To our incredible audiences, thank you for filling the seats, for the laughs, the tears, and the standing ovations. You made every single rehearsal worth it.

To the cast and crew and volunteers, our FMP family, thank you for the late nights, the hard work, and the magic we made together on the stage.

Our Sponsors, thanks for your wonderful support , to both pubs in New Inn, Jerry & Phil in Ollies Bar and Mary Frances in Barron's thanks for making us feel welcome, always!

Itโ€™s been an unforgettable run, as we pack away the costumes, it's bitter sweet, but we will be back in the not to distant future, with more exciting plans.

Thank you for being part of our story. โค๏ธ
