𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 & 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲

Carrigtwohill GAA Healthy Club will host the Camán Till Dawn Sunrise Walk next Saturday, 10th May. This is our third Camán Till Dawn event for mental health awareness, following on from our 2017 overnight puckathon and our 2020 sunset relay marathon.

All proceeds from the 5km walk will go to supporting mental health services in the Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre (carrigtwohillfrc.ie/). This is an area where there is constantly a shortfall in funding. The Family Resource Centre provides an essential community service. Adult & adolescent counselling and family support are an invaluable part of the support that FRC gives to local people.

All are welcome to come along. There will be collection buckets there on the morning. The suggested donation is €10 per adult, €5 per child and €20 per family.

We are lastminute.com with this, so are asking people to please like and share it as much as possible to get the word out there.

(The route will be as per our previous walks: out the gate of the club and left/west as far as Killacloyne Bridge/old Carrigtwohill Community College Campus; turn and return eastwards to the club grounds.)

*RAINWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR CARRIGTWOHILL - PLAN FOR MANAGING FLOOD RISK ARISING FROM RAINFAILL - PUBLIC INFO EVENT CARRIGTWOHILL COMMUNITY HALL JUNE 20th 6-8PM*

Last October, the rain which came with Storm Babet caused flooding to many parts of east Cork, including Carrigtwohill. Many homes & businesses were seriously damaged. While such events are not without precedent, climate change make storms as intense Babet more likely to happen, and it's important we adapt to this new reality (as well as doing our best to limit further climate change).

Arising from that need, Cork County Council's Planning Policy Unit (along with McCloy Consulting) are holding a public information evening on the Rainwater Management Plan that is currently being prepared for Carrigtwohill.

This plan will outline proposed interventions, intended to make Carrigtwohill a more flood resilient place.

This public information event will take place on June 20th in the Carrigtwohill Community Centre from 6pm-8pm. The link to the event notice on the Cork Co Co website is below.
