🎭PLAY FUNDRAISER: Please get behind ALT member Olive Robinson, a primary school teacher living in Athlone, who is bringing a great comedy to Athlone Little Theatre for 3 performances from June 26-28 for a great cause.

🎭Legan Drama Group presents 'My Therapist Needs Therapy', with all proceeds going to Walukuba West Primary School and Rays of Hope Hospice, Jinja, Uganda.

🎭The group is currently building small units for the teachers to live in so they can be accomodated safely. The school has 1,200 pupils and includes facilities for deaf children. Olive will volunteer with the group this July.

Our fantastic lighting and sound technical crew, Seamus Farrell and Mark McDermott, bring a wealth of creativity, experience, and technical excellence to this production.

Mark McDermott is renowned for his meticulous and atmospheric stagecraft. His notable design credits at the Corn Mill include A Whistle in the Dark, According to Rumour, One Wife Too Many, and Charlie McGuinness’s Clarity at Last. Mark’s collaborative design work earned the prestigious Innovation and Creativity Award at the 2025 One Act Festival All-Ireland Festival for Hoodwink Productions’ Wildling. In addition to his technical expertise, Mark has also played an important role in the construction of the set for this production, working alongside set designer Seamus Farrell. Mark is thrilled to bring his creative vision to this latest production and hopes audiences thoroughly enjoy the show.

Seamus Farrell is an award-winning lighting designer, sound technician, set designer, and theatre creative who is widely recognised as one of the leading technical talents on the All-Ireland drama circuit. Across multiple decades, he has built a formidable reputation for creating highly atmospheric and emotionally resonant stage environments. His many accolades include the Best Stage Lighting Award at the 2019 All-Ireland Drama Festival Finals in Athlone for Corn Mill Theatre Group’s On Broken Wings; the Best Lighting Award at the 2024 Newtownstewart Drama Festival for Blayney Players’ No Going Back; and critical acclaim for his beautifully sensitive sound and lighting design for Dundalk Theatre Workshop’s 2023 production of Faith Healer. Most recently, Seamus was part of the 2025 All-Ireland One-Act Champion production Wildling, where his innovative design work was recognised with the Innovation and Creativity Award. As designer of this production’s set, as well as its lighting and soundscape, Seamus once again brings his exceptional artistry and experience to the stage.

Meet the Production Team
Behind every production are the people working tirelessly behind the scenes, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have two brilliant women helping throughout this play.

Chris has a wealth of acting and directing experience, having worked with the Corn Mill Theatre, Latin School Players, and Gunner McGee Players. Throughout this production, she has been an invaluable support in so many ways — helping with directing, offering creative suggestions, stepping in for absent actors during rehearsals, keeping everyone on their lines as we work towards being fully off-book, and contributing fantastic ideas for costumes and overall production. Her experience, guidance, and eye for detail have been a huge asset to the entire process.

Lorna, who also has acting experience with the Latin School Players, has been another fantastic support throughout rehearsals. She has helped by stepping in for missing actors, assisting with line work, and keeping rehearsals running smoothly. On top of that, she has kept everyone well fed and in good spirits by making sandwiches and chicken curry for the cast and crew — a contribution that has definitely not gone unappreciated!

Both Chris and Lorna have gone above and beyond to support this production, and it simply wouldn’t have been the same without their dedication, generosity, and enthusiasm. We are so grateful for everything they have brought to the team.
