Congratulations, Neill and Eoin!
Brewery Lane Theatre joins with Carrick Musical Society in congratulating Neill and Eoin on their magnificent achievement in winning Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor in the recent AIMS Awards. The 'Man of La Mancha' is a man for all seasons. Neill Bourke is equally involved in the performing arts, whether it's in musicals or drama, and he is selfless with his time and talents. Neill always makes himself available for concerts or charitable events. He revels in and understands the magic of theatre.
We are delighted that Neill divides his time between the Brewery and Strand. He has played exceptional roles in Brewery Productions down the years, and recently in our Clancy Festival play 'Spreading the News'. It has been an exciting year for Carrick actors. Our former member Niamh óg De Paor won Best Actress in the All-Ireland Drama Finals in Athlone, and Neill Best Actor at the AIMS Awards. Is Carrick especially gifted in artistic talent? Let outsiders judge that. As far back as two hundred and thirty years ago, the then Irish- speaking town had a theatre with productions of drama and comic operas by locals and traveling troupes. Long may Neill and Eoin continue to enrich us with their talents.

All of you put in many hours of time and effort to get this show onstage - well done!
Thanks also to the rest of our volunteers who helped out over the festival: Set Builders - Martin, Mark & Johnny (and Oleksandr for painting the fantastic backdrop), Alban on Lights, Fiona on Box Office, Ann, Angelina, Margaret & Una on Front of House, Rose Anne & Maria prompting, Breda, Raika & all the team in the Tearoom, and our Committe Members - we couldn't do this without all of you. Finally, thanks to Tom Myles for opening the Festival, to all the musicians who played for us over the last few days and to Gay Brazel who managed the sound for all 3 of our concerts. Hope to see you all again next year!

"Spreading the News" is a short one-act comic play by Lady Gregory, which she wrote for the opening night of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, 27 Dec. 1904. Because of Mrs. Tarpey's hearing impairment and the villagers' love of gossip, a misunderstanding grows and grows…..
