a wee bit sad to see my baby leave me but happy that he will have a new home. went and got it framed today before eye send it out. many artists have a fear that when they create something they really like, they’ll never be able to create something they like that much again. it’s a lie but it’s one eye believe a lot of times. part of me worries that eye may be releasing a piece of art that eye will never surpass and therefore eye need to cling to it. bull$hyt. that’s the enemy. Issa lie. Creativity isn’t a finite resource. It’s a muscle that gets stronger the more we use it. with that said, eye bought a bigger canvas today so eye can get started on the piece want in my living room above me couch. it could go a couple directions but either ways eye’m excited to start. furthermore, it’s not beneficial to us as artists to view art as objectively good or bad and play the comparison Olympics with our works. eye do this with music a lot. eye don’t know if eye’ll ever make a song as great as blah blah blah. eye don’t know if eye can top this. it’s not about topping it. it’s not about making a better song. it’s about making the songs that need to be made, the messages that want to be heard, the pictures that want to be displayed, the images that need to be seen. not good or bad. but felt and received and acknowledged. eye forget this truth 222 often. so cheers to more art & less screen time.
