A beautiful afternoon performing at Afternoon at the Atrium in the Clayton Hotel as part of the Cork International Choral Festival 2026.

Cahir to Sing performed:
Enya’s ‘May it Be’
Bruno Coulais’ ‘Vois sur ton chemin’
Liam Bates’ ‘Blazing Sky’

A special thank you to our accompanist extraordinaire, DĂłnal Dignam, for his wonderful musicianship and support throughout.

It was a joy to share music in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere as part of this fantastic festival.

When you’re singing a French song (Bruno Coulais’ ‘Vois sur ton chemin’) at the Cork International Choral Festival and the wonderful French choir Le Choeur Battant performs just before you, there’s only one thing to do: invite them on stage! đŸ‡«đŸ‡·đŸ‡źđŸ‡Ș
A lovely spontaneous collaboration at Elizabeth Fort: music makes friends of strangers.

~ "Quiet acts of solidarity are part of what makes this chorus so strong. When women lift each other in ways both visible and invisible, something remarkable takes shape: a community where every voice is held, every singer matters, and no one stand alone. Together we create more than music. We create a circle of strength that carries far beyond the rehearsal room. When we stand together in song, no one carries the music, or the world, alone." ~ Sherri Lasko, conductor of Bread & Roses.

Happy International Women’s Day, 2026!

Celebrating International Women's Day ~ “I find great solace in weekly choral rehearsals. There, people from all walks of life come together to surrender themselves to the whole; they come for communion, hoping to perfect a unified sound and for the promise of a deeply exhilarating musical experience. It can be transformative. It is healing.” ~ Joan Szymko ~ Composer, choral conductor, and music educator.

At Cahir to Sing, singing is far more than learning notes or preparing for performances: it is friendship, community, wellbeing, laughter, and shared purpose. It is the moment a room fills with sound and strangers become friends. It is the quiet confidence that grows with every rehearsal, and the joy of creating something beautiful together.

We are proud to take part in National Singing Week as part of the wonderful initiative by Sing Ireland, celebrating the power of collective voice and the connections that singing brings to our lives.

Here’s what singing means to us. What does it mean to you?

What a joy to sing at Cahir Farmers Market! đŸŽ¶
We were having so much fun that we completely forgot to take photos. Thank you to everyone who stopped, listened, and sang along.
Next up: a Christmas Eve collaboration with St. Mary's Church Choir. A lovely way to close the year together.

And then
 we’ll see you in 2026, our birthday year 🎉
Watch this space. Plenty more singing ahead!

Beautiful singing by the ladies of Cahir to Sing at the choir’s 9th Annual Christmas Concert in Cahir Castle at the weekend.

Sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of Cahir Castle for facilitating us in such a beautiful setting, and to all our friends (in programme order, in case I forget someone!):

Jacqueline Walsh, our ever-professional MC;
Michael Young, for his sensitive and supportive accompaniment. What a joy to have his collaboration;
Delphine (violin), Jim (guitar) and Paddy (banjo) for a joyful trad set;
Tom Delaney, soloist in The Little Drummer Boy, with Hugo Ryan on snare drum, both adding real colour and storytelling to the performance;
Nicole Butler, for her beautifully sung Walking in the Air and O Holy Night;
Annika Huth (concertina) for her beautiful traditional airs;
Michael Duggan, whose powerful rendition of Christmas 1915 was deeply moving, as was his ‘Old Candlelight’;
Our German speakers for a beautiful and authentic singing of Stille Nacht;
Cahir to Sing members, committee, and Christmas committee whose commitment, generosity of spirit and hard work continue to make this choir such a joy to direct: with beautiful performances of Do You Hear What I Hear, Blazing Sky, Silent Night, Carol of the Bells, Once Upon a December, White Winter Hymnal and I Heard the Bells, featuring our wonderful campanologists.
Thank you to Maria Taylor for her continued support and always catching our best side in her photography!

And finally, heartfelt thanks to our amazingly receptive audience. Without you, we wouldn’t have nearly as much fun! Thank you for raising the rafters on ‘Christmas Bells’!

Wishing you all every Christmas blessing, and we hope to connect with you again very soon.
