Cahir to Sing

On Saturday evening, Cahir to Sing was delighted to welcome members of the choir from St Mary’s Church, Clogheen, one of our sister parishes, to join us for Mass in Cahir.

We may usually sing in different churches and different communities, but music gives us a wonderful opportunity to share what we do, learn from one another and enjoy the simple pleasure of singing together.

As we marked the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, it was particularly fitting to include Make Me a Channel of Your Peace, beautifully sung by Jerry Griffin from Clogheen.

We were also delighted to have Celine Burke on flute, who played the beautiful Irish air Inis Oírr during the Offertory, and was joined by Fidelma on low whistle. A special word of thanks too to Maeve, our psalmist, who led the Responsorial Psalm so beautifully. The psalm is such an important part of the Liturgy of the Word, and Maeve’s beautiful singing added greatly to the prayerfulness of the celebration.

A sincere thank you to all of the Clogheen singers who travelled to Cahir and added their voices to ours. And, of course, thank you to everyone who organised the cuppa and goodies afterwards! ☕🍰 We look forward to continued collaborations.

🎶 CHORDS IN ST. PAUL’S | CULTURE NIGHT 2026 🎶

Cahir to Sing is delighted to invite you to a very special evening of community, music and song for Culture Night 2026.
On Friday 18th September at 8pm, we’ll be joined by some wonderful guests in the beautiful surroundings of St. Paul’s Church, Cahir for Chords in St. Paul’s.
Culture Night is all about bringing people together through the arts, and that’s exactly what we hope this evening will be: local voices, shared music, a beautiful space and a celebration of the musical life of our community.

🎶 Cahir to Sing at St Mary’s Church 🎶

A beautiful evening of music ministry at St Mary’s Church, Cahir, for our monthly Mass together.
‘Love is the one thing that cannot hurt your neighbour’ (Romans 13:10) from today’s second reading: a beautiful thought for any ministry. Singing together, serving our parish community and sharing the gift of music are all small ways of putting that love into practice.
And the rewards of music ministry are mostly spiritual… but not solely! A special thank you to Irene for the beautiful cookies, literally handmade with love. They didn’t survive long after this photograph! 🍪😋

🎶 WE’RE BACK! 🎶

And we can’t wait!

After the summer break, Cahir to Sing Ladies’ Choir returns tomorrow evening and we’re so looking forward to seeing everyone again, catching up over a cuppa and, most importantly, making music together.

There’s something special about that first rehearsal back: familiar faces, familiar voices, new voices, music ready to go, and a whole new season of singing ahead of us.

CAHIR TO SING CELEBRATES 10 YEARS! 🎶

This year marks a very special milestone as Cahir to Sing celebrates its 10th Anniversary.

What began as a small community choir has grown into a wonderful musical family, bringing people together through friendship, song and shared experiences over the past decade.

Join us as we celebrate ten years of choral music, community and connection with a special anniversary concert in the beautiful surroundings of Cahir Castle.

When you’re singing a French song (Bruno Coulais’ ‘Vois sur ton chemin’) at the Cork International Choral Festival and the wonderful French choir Le Choeur Battant performs just before you, there’s only one thing to do: invite them on stage! 🇫🇷🇮🇪
