Culture Night Donegal

Culture Night Donegal Taking place on Friday, 20th September 2024, Culture Night is one night for all.

Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. On Culture Night, arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased access to the public. Special and unique events and workshops are specifically programmed at participating locations

and everything is available free of charge. Culture Night has grown from a relatively small scale cultural event staged only in Dublin in 2006 to the significant national cultural event it now is. The initiative has captured both the public imagination and the enthusiasm of artists and cultural organisations. Culture Night is brought to you by the Arts Council in partnership with the regional arts offices, local authorities and cultural organisations throughout the island of Ireland.

Culture Night 2025

Each year we have dancers perform on Culture Night in Letterkenny Town Park, with the wonderful Inishowen Carnival Group.

Friday 19th Sept
Letterkenny Town Park
Performance 1: 8pm
Performance 2: 9pm (repeat performance)

Bring your family and friends along to the Park to experience this wonderful FREE EVENT. They will LOVE IT 💃 🕺

There will also be another group dancing/story telling.
And Fire Performers too 🔥

The park will be really beautiful on the night with installations, props and characters throughout, so be sure to take a walk around the whole park too.

Don't forget to give us a big cheer at the end of our Performances 👏 😘 💥

Don’t miss the exhibition opening of Susan Mannion – Losing Cohesion.

Artlink presents the opening of Losing Cohesion, a new site-specific exhibition by visual artist Susan Mannion, launching on Culture Night in the Saldanha Gallery at Fort Dunree from 6pm.

Drawing inspiration from the erosion of the buildings and landforms at Fort Dunree, the exhibition reflects on the disintegration of man-made structures - rusting iron, exposed wood, and the relentless attrition of wind, rain and sea.
Losing Cohesion runs from 20th September to 18th October 2025. The exhibition is free, and all are welcome to attend the opening.

Culture Night Carndonagh Youth Takeover.
Spraoi agus Spórt hands the reins to young people for a special Culture Night celebration in Carndonagh. The evening kicks off from 6pm at SuperValu carpark in Carndonagh.

Highlights include visual arts workshops, music with an open mic karaoke and live band, digital media creation stations, and lantern making. Visitors can also enjoy a pop-up Gaeltacht café with tea, coffee, and treats, a “come try an instrument” session, and a curated exhibition of artworks created on the night and in the lead-up to Culture Night.

Gaming tournaments, film and photography booths, and opportunities to explore digital arts will run alongside live displays from local artists.
