Hi there everybody.
Thank you all for visiting my page for my little book of adventure. Crispy and Lulu's great adventures are based on two real life pets that my son's love and adore. Here's chapter one for you all to read or listen to, so you can get a feel for tale of friendship and discovery between two best friends as they set out on a journey of a lifetime.
Chapter one
Follow your dreams.
As morning broke in the country side outside the town of Thinklebottom, two friends woke to the peaceful sounds of birds and the noise of the near by river that they grew up beside. Their names were Crispy and Lulu. After a good stretch and long yawn, the two looked at each other and smiled. Happy knowing they lived in one of the most beautiful places on the earth.
Crispy: "Good morning Ludulles" which she liked to call Lulu, on those days when Lulu wasn't trying to annoy her..."Today is the first day of our new life"
Lulu : "How do you mean Crispy?" Lulu asked whilst chomping down on a juicy grape she found in the nearby farm. Lulu loves her food!
Crispy: "Well Lulu, if you want to change something in your life, then you can do this at anytime, on any day", said Crispy as she looked out over the rolling hills and forest to the distant city skyline.
"Do you want to go on an adventure with me Lulu?" she asked as she jumped up onto a mole hill and pointed to the horizon.
Lulu: "An adventure Crispy!, that sounds exciting. Where would we go?" Lulu asked with great wonder.
Crispy: "The City, Lulu."
Lulu: "The City, Crispy!" said Lulu in disbelief.
"I've only heard of the city from Grandpa Nibbles. He said Hamsters there are given food and fresh water everyday from humans for free"
Crispy: " Thats right Ludulles, 'The City'. Where we Hamsters are loved and cared for by the humans and are given homes that have fresh hay and warms beds ". " There we'd be safe, were no more of those big birds can get us and have us for lunch!"
Lulu fell into a daydream of being hand fed fruits and nuts of all kinds, whilst surrounded by all her favourite things and having a view of the sea that she has longed to see. When they were both little babies Grandpa Nibbles would tell tales of his life in the city and all the amazing things that can be found there, but also some of the dangers.
Lulu: "...but how would we get there Crispy? Grandpa Nibbles says its a really long journey down river, so we would have to plan this very carefully.
Crispy: "I agree Luddles...So what's it to be! Will we continue dreaming of what could be or will we follow our dreams and make them real?"
Lulu, whilst still munching on her grape, paused for a moment and took a look around. She'd never left the riverside before and knowing she wasn't getting any younger, agreed to go on this adventure with her best friend
