Art classes at Tin Jug Studio focussed on FOOD! In my early afternoon Storytelling Art for younger children, the third chapter of my new story included an introduction to ‘Cream Tea’…. In the second class of the afternoon, for older children, the theme was ‘What’s For Dinner’, and the setting up and drawing Still Life pictures from assorted wholesome vegetables, baskets, etc. The splendid artwork by Willow is shown above. And by the way, not only did they each make lovely illustrations but they then requested pieces of what they had been drawing! Eager mouths devoured cucumber slices, apple and carrot. All that after their usual refreshment break of apple juice and assorted biscuits.
When I mentioned that I had inherited a great love of baskets from my mother and grandmother, Willow, Emily and Tommy jumped up and counted all the baskets they could see in the studio. It was with great amusement to us all that there are around 35 upstairs. So not counting ones downstairs in the gallery. And as I mentioned ‘There are lots more in our house!’.
