Please note that for the first time in 57 years we may have to change our venue. The hotels banqueting suite has reduced in size and the hotel have asked us to move our event subject to finding a new suitable space in Birr. We have identified one or two suitable spaces. More later. 100% though, the show must go on.........

THE BIG BIRR YARN BOMB!
This year we're yarn bombing for Vintage Week, and we need YOUR creativity!
Are you a knitter, crocheter, wrapper, knotter, stitcher, or crafty creator? We’re looking for donations of:
• 🧵 Granny squares
• 🧵 Knitted squares
• 🧵 Doilies
• 🧵 Yarn creations of all kinds

We'll be transforming beds, bikes, hoops, wheels, and more with colourful yarn and repurposed fabrics to create a spectacular Vintage Week display!
We'll be hosting making sessions in the lead-up to Vintage Week and throughout the festival, but first we need to build our stash.
So grab your hooks, needles, yarn, and fabric scraps and start creating! Every square, stitch, and donation helps make The Big Birr Yarn Bomb bigger, brighter, and more beautiful.

Alongside our amazing display of vintage vehicles, we’re inviting YOU to take part in a fun new way with Bikes and Barrows!
No need for a big float… just grab a wheelbarrow or bike, decorate it your way, and join the fun. Go simple or go all out , it’s completely up to you!
Open to everyone: families, friends, clubs, shops, and businesses.
Promote your business, support a cause, or just get creative and enjoy the day!
Cash prizes up for grabs for the most creative entries!

Host an Event!
Community events have been at the heart of Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival for the last 57 years.
​Whether it's Dancing at Cottages, the Car Treasure Hunt, eccentric and historical walking tours of Birr, the Birr Garden Trail, sport, Festival Charades and the Bullseye Quiz, the town never fails to come together every August, to put on a show!

Artist Opportunity for Fused Glass Workshop
Join Michelle O’Donnell for a relaxed and engaging one-day workshop at Glasshammer Studios, Rhode, Offaly exploring fused glass.
30 May 2026, 10am–4pm
All materials and lunch provided.
This is a wonderful chance to experiment with a new medium in a supportive setting. Four selected artists will work together to create a complementary group of pieces for outdoor exhibition at the theatre.
Participation is free.
