Debbie Godsell - A Space for Lismore
Debbie Godsell has spent the year facilitating a series of printmaking workshops with a group of women from Lismore. Through conversation and making, the group has reflected on themes of identity, belonging, memory and place. The project now culminates in a new exhibition at St Carthage Hall, presenting a series of soft-sculptural self-portraits created by the participating women.

Join us for the Exhibition Launch on Saturday, 22 August, 3 - 5pm:
3pm: St Carthage Hall, Chapel St, Lismore
4pm: A walk departing St Carthage Hall to see the new Print Studio at Lismore Castle Arts.

Introducing Invited Curator Colin Martin (Colin Martin )

Colin Martin is an artist and lecturer based in Dublin. He is currently Head of the RHA School. He is a graduate of TU Dublin and NCAD and his current practice is concerned with the intersection of analogue painting with digital and technological cultures. The practice explores spaces that blur boundaries between the real and virtual and where technology, culture and politics have become synthesized. Martin has been an active participant and educator in the Irish visual arts cultural landscape acting as the chairperson in Black Church Print Studio where he initiated projects such as Black Church Process and the A&E public talk series. He has been member of the RHA Council and Programme Board and has initiated public talk series, national and international artist master classes, drawing groups, Critical Correspondence Courses and structured skill workshops for artists at the RHA. He has served as a judge on the RDS Graduate Award Panel, Marmite Prize for Painting, This Is Art and the British Institute Fund.

BOOKBINDING | DRUM LEAF BINDING WORKSHOP | 10–11 OCTOBER

Drum leaf binding offers a unique opportunity to learn a refined contemporary book structure, introduced through folding, sewing, and assembly techniques to produce artist books. The workshop focuses on clean construction and a professional finish, with attention to accuracy at every stage. Participants develop an understanding of structure, sequencing, and page flow through hands-on making. Demonstrations support precise binding methods throughout the process. Each participant completes a finished artist book.
