Support the Future of the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival fans

For over 23 years, the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival has brought people together through music, friendship and a shared love of Rory Gallagher.

Fans have travelled from across Ireland, the UK, Europe and around the world to Ballyshannon, Rory's birthplace, to celebrate a musician whose influence continues to inspire generations.

Today, our festival faces one of the greatest challenges in its history.

A substantial amount of festival funds collected through our former ticketing provider, "Tickets ie", remains unavailable. More than €283,000 in 2026 festival revenue has been denied to the Festival following the company's insolvency, collapse and cessation of trading.

While legal processes are underway to recover these funds, the Festival must continue planning, meeting commitments and safeguarding its future.

Over recent weeks, many supporters have called on us to launch a crowdfunding campaign and begin the journey towards the 2027 Festival. Rather than allowing this setback to define us, we are choosing to do what the Rory Gallagher Festival community has always done, Stand together.

This has been an incredibly difficult time, particularly following what was the biggest Rory Gallagher Festival in our history. However, the overwhelming support, encouragement and determination shown by our community has strengthened our resolve.

This crowdfunding campaign will assist alongside other financing measures as we continue to meet our obligations and prepare for the future. At the same time, the legal process to recover the missing funds continues.

Many of you have sent a clear message - Protect the future of the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival. We hear you - we will do everything within our power to ensure that Rory's music continues to be celebrated in Ballyshannon for generations to come.

Hello folks, over the last week or so we have had many messages enquiring about the dates for the Ballyshannon Rhythm and Blues Weekend 2026, well we can confirm that there will be no event taking place in Octoer 2026. Obviously with the current situation pertaining and regarding to the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival that also leads out on this event, we are not in a position to deliver the second event Ballyshannon Rhythm & Blues in 2026. A Ticket Company in Dublin called Tickets.ie and owned by German Corporation - Deag Entertainment ceased trading has left us in an unviable position. Many Thanks to everybody for your messages of support, hopefully a weekend like this can take place again the future, best wishes to all. Ballyshannon Rhythm and Blues Team 💙 🎶 💪
