🎭Another night of drama in the Balor🎭
The stage was full of energy and fantastic performances as our amazing young people gave it their all.

Well done our fantastic facilitator for another set of 2 amazing performances:

Donegal Youth Theatre in rehearsals on Wednesday evening with JC and Sinead in the Sean Mac Cumhaill clubhouse house due to a very busy theatre.

A big thanks to the club for letting the students carry on with their rehearsals for their upcoming showcase performance night.

Echoes of Frances Browne:Creative Writing Workshop with writer, director, and performer Rhona Trench
FREE Event - booking essential - limited spaces
Join us for a weekend of creative writing sparked by the life and work of Frances Browne (1816–1879), the “Blind Poetess of Ulster.” Using her poetry and story as starting points, we’ll explore themes like imagination, nature, memory, and resilience.

Open to writers of all levels, these workshops encourage responses in any form—flash fiction, memoir, dialogue, poetic prose, or hybrid experiments. No prior knowledge of Browne (or poetry) is needed.

We at the DCA are absolutely thrilled for our very own Aoife Browne from Ballybofey, a past pupil of the Balor DCA Youth Theatre! 🎉

Aoife has just landed a dream role in Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the world-famous Phoenix Theatre in London. The show, based on Netflix’s hit series, has been running since November 2023 and is now heading into its third year on the West End stage.

Aoife only moved to London two weeks ago to start rehearsals, and would you believe this incredible part came from her very first audition after graduating from Dublin’s prestigious Lir Academy (home to the likes of Paul Mescal!). What a breakthrough moment! 🌟

We couldn’t be prouder of Aoife and all she has achieved. From Ballybofey to the bright lights of London’s West End – it’s truly inspiring. The whole DCA family is cheering her on, and we wish her all the luck in the world as she takes this amazing step in her career. ❤️👏

✨🎭 Donegal Youth Theatre & Balor Youth Theatre – Week 2 and the Balor is still absolutely buzzing 🐝 – with energy, laughter, and just the right dose of chaos (the best kind 😉).

🚨CASTING CALL🚨
We have 3 parts to cast in this years Pantomime "Jack and the Beanstalk"
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to join our group, or indeed take to the stage for the first time!
There are 3 roles up for grabs, 1 x Male (early twenties) and also 2 x additional male parts (30-40 years old). Ability to sing is a must (or at least the ability hold a tune!🤣)
