Over the past few days, our thoughts have been with the family and friends of Seddie McGovern as they mourn his passing.
Seddie was a true friend and valued supporter of Ballinamore Musical Society. In the early years of the society, he was always there behind the scenes, helping with stage props, lighting, especially operating the famous spotlight from โup in the Gods!โ, and countless other tasks. He could turn his hand to anything and, whether the job was big or small, nothing was ever a problem. He was always obliging, dependable and willing to help.
The McGovern family has been closely associated with Ballinamore Musical Society over the years, with his daughter Briege taking to the stage in many major roles. Seddieโs quiet dedication and support behind the scenes played an important part in so many of our productions, and his contribution will always be remembered with gratitude.
On behalf of everyone at Ballinamore Musical Society, we extend our sincere condolences to his daughters Mary Dwyer and Briege, his sons Frank and Gerry, his sister Mary Collins, and to all of his family, friends and neighbours.
May Seddie rest in eternal peace.
