Welcome to the 2026 Leaderboard Update in terms of the Low Score and the Player with the Most Holes in One.

As we head into the final weeks of the 2026 Season the Competition for both the Round Low Score and Number of Holes in One is hotting up. In the race for the Season Low Score it is a normal phenomenon as Players start get to know the finer points of the new course we have seen a number of player post new low scores in recent weeks. On Monday 24th August after a summer break Mark McNern managed to post a new low score of 48 (-6 Under) on his second round of the day to jump to the top of the 2026 Leaderboard.

In terms of Holes in One we hit 31 for the season this week with 2 Players absolutelyy ripping it up this year. Dessie McNern was leading the way for a good while with a fantastic 3 Holes in One, which actually matched Mark's winning total last season, but Phil Hubbard has managed to set a new record with an amazing total of 4 Holes in Ones. Phil's holes in one have come on the 1st, 7th, 15th and 17th Holes.

Anyway, weather permitting, we will have another 4 or 5 weeks for more of those Low Scores and Holes in One to be recorded.

Make sure to inform the cabin of any Holes in One and if you have a photo send it to out What's App or if you have an under Par round leave your card in or let us get a photo of it.

It game on for the 2026 Low Score on the New Course Sandfield Pitch and Putt after Barry Reynolds posted a bogey free 49 (5 Under Par) on Friday to match Frank Dorrians 5 Under 49 earlier in the week.

The new 13th Hole is perhaps not proving as difficult as we thought with 2 Holes in One being recorded last weekend.

Congratulations to Julia Baur 🤩 who was the first player to get a hole in one on our new Hole 1 , when she played earlier this week.
While Dessie McNern was on fire this week with holes in one on 2 consecutive days at Hole 9 and 7 🔥 … this is his 3rd of the year putting him in a commanding position to take the trophy, back from Mark, this year!!

We were pleased to welcome back Seamus Coleman this evening to get a first look at the New Course and facilities.

We are pleased to announce that the New Holes on the hill and new greens on the old 13th and 17th will be in play from today, Friday 10th July and the New Course layout and numbering for the full 18 Holes will be in effect.
This means we have a new Scorecard with all the hole distances (in yards) from today also.
Please Note: The newly laid Green are still very immature and will need the season to thicken out to provide a carpet like putting surface.
We hope you enjoy the new holes and the challenges they bring. Along with the new layout and In keeping with Sandfield tradition we have tried to keep each new hole unique.
With the opening of the extended Green on 14th (old 13th) this hole now becomes the longest hole on the course being 75 yards (68 metres) close to the maximum all out on Irish Pitch and Putt Courses.
We look forward to any feedback you have regarding the new course.
