Seán will be chatting about this year’s festival, taking place from 11–13 September, and what audiences can look forward to across the weekend including our huge charity raffle!

INTRODUCING THE CEOLX STAGE × DOOAGH FOLK FESTIVAL

We’re delighted to announce something brand new for Dooagh Folk Festival 2026 a collaboration between CeolX and Dooagh Folk Festival bringing the first CeolX Stage to Achill Island!

This is exactly what both Dooagh Folk Festival and CeolX are all about, creating opportunities for musicians, showcasing great live music and bringing together local talent with exciting artists and new sounds.

And we have a serious first line-up…

The Achill 400 : keeping it local with Achill’s own and bringing plenty of homegrown energy to the stage.

The OARS : Eoin Coughlan and Brian Morrissey, bringing their contemporary folk sound, songwriting and traditional influences to Achill.

SuperCéilí : Peter Staunton and Seán Leahy combining traditional Irish music with electronic sounds and serious energy. Trad meets the dance floor!

We’re hugely excited about this collaboration, and the CeolX Stage is just the first of many plans we have for CeolX × Dooagh Folk Festival.

Everyone at the Dooagh Folk Festival is deeply saddened by the passing of Eithne Vallely, Director of Music at Armagh Pipers Club.

For those of us who grew up attending the Pipers Club, Eithne’s contribution to traditional music has been immeasurable. Her influence reached far beyond Armagh, including here on Achill Island, where her work has had a lasting influence on our piping tradition.

Our heartfelt condolences to Brian, the Vallely family and the entire Armagh Pipers Club community.

It is with great sorrow that we share the news that Armagh Pipers Club's Director of Music, Eithne Vallely, has died at the age of 81. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to her husband Brian and their family. Eithne brought music into the lives of children for six decades. Her enormous contribution to Irish traditional music was recognised nationally with many awards and honours.

Dan McCabe – Dooagh Folk Festival 2026

Hailing from Naas, County Kildare, Dan McCabe has become one of the standout voices in contemporary Irish folk music, combining the storytelling of the traditional Irish ballad with his own powerful and distinctive sound.

From performances reaching millions online to appearances at Áras an Uachtaráin and sold-out shows across Ireland, Dan has built a huge following and established himself as a firm favourite on the Irish folk scene.

We’re delighted to welcome Dan McCabe to Achill Island for Dooagh Folk Festival 2026, where he’ll take to the stage on Sunday, 13th September for what promises to be a brilliant festival finale.
