The Australia-Indonesia Hip Hop Coalition started around as a grassroots collaboration project in 2012 with collaborations between Australian DJ Paypercuts of AWK and BTE and Indonesian Hip Hop artists from the Hellhouse Hip Hop crew of Jogjakarta, and the Gardu House graffitti community of Jakarta. The artists made new music together, performed at several events, and formed tight inter-cultural b
onds based on a shared love of hip hop. In 2013 Grafitti artists from the AWK crew engaged in collaborations with the Gardu House grafitti community and in 2015 members of the AWK and BTW, Gutz, Piker, and Paypercuts returned to Indonesia to perform and collaborate with the Hellhouse, FSK, DPMB and Begundal Clan. The Hellhouse Crew, Gutz and Paypercuts are currently in the studio working on a collaboration record to be released later in 2015. This page showcases the stuff that’s been happening along the way. We hope the AIHHC will act as a forum to connect more Australians and Indonesians together through their mutual love of hip hop.
