[UPCOMING EVENT]

Karya-karya drawing ke-empat seniman ini menandai perubahan konsepsi karya-karya seni rupa dari generasi 1980-2000-an dan karakter karya generasi 2000-2020-an sekarang ini. ‘Shadow’ dalam karya-karya ke-empat seniman ini adalah ranah pengalaman ‘kebenaran’ dalam kehidupan modern yang dipertanyakan kembali. Shadow yang digambarkan oleh keempat seniman dalam pameran ini, adalah pengalaman yang kita tolak, kita abaikan yang kemudian masuk dan bersemayam di alam bawah sadar. Sementara untuk menjalani kehidupan, kita selalu berusaha supaya berada dalam tataran kesadaran. Kesadaran adalah keseimbangan emosi yang menghasilkan cahaya guna menerangi pengalaman gelap kita, sehingga menghasilkan vibrasi positif ketika berinteraksi dengan orang lain.

The Interweaving of Art Disciplines in Contemporary Art

Lecture by Heri Dono, Indonesian visual and installation artist

Join us for a special lecture by renowned Indonesian contemporary artist Heri Dono, our guest professor supported by the Ludwig Foundation.
His works have gained international recognition, blending traditional Javanese art forms—such as wayang kulit (shadow puppetry)—with contemporary socio-political commentary and experimental media. Known for his playful, surreal installations and animated sculptures, his art challenges global and local power structures with humor, symbolism, and deep cultural insight. This is a unique opportunity to engage with one of Southeast Asia’s most visionary and influential artists.

The lecture is in English. All are warmly invited!
