My friend Simone using the Hum in its most natural form.

Not for performance. Not to impress anyone. Not to be “good” at music.

Just a human being regulating herself through sound.

In a world where so much expression becomes performance and validation, many people forget what it means to simply be present with themselves.

For me, if there is such a thing as “sound healing,” it begins here.

When the person themselves plays. When the sound becomes personal. When rhythm slows the nervous system. When there is no audience to convince.

Just breath. Touch. Listening. Presence.

This is the original intention behind the Hums.

Arrived in Sydney.
Everyone seems chill…
but slowing down is still a practice.
A father. A child.
A shared moment through sound.
Hums have landed 🇦🇺
First stop: Bondi.

My brother Daniel… carries a voice that doesn’t just sing...it listens, it holds, it guides. You can feel that his sound is not coming from the surface, but from years of devotion to inner work and service.
When he met the Achelois Hum, something quietly aligned.
It wasn’t about adding another instrument.
It was like the instrument recognized him.
And even more beautiful…
you could feel him recognizing himself again through it.
That’s the part that moved me the most.
Because this is what this work is really about.
Not music.
Not performance.
But remembering who we are…
and offering that in service to others.
A true voice…
meeting a true instrument…
in service of something greater than both.
Grateful to witness this.
Grateful to walk beside brothers who choose this path.

Building Healthy Relationships
through sound, presence, and truth.

Meeting Linda & Leven from Taiwan felt like meeting family again… just in a different part of the world.
From the first moment with Linda months ago, I already felt it.. sister energy.
And now finally meeting Leven… man to man… I could feel the depth of his work. A conscious man. A present partner.
What moved me the most wasn’t perfection…
it was their honesty.
We played the hums together as a couple.. a simple conversational flow.
One plays… the other listens… then responds.
And in that space, truth came out.
The excitement.
The rushing.
The awareness.
The adjustment.
This is where real relationships live.
Not in getting it right…
but in seeing, feeling, and choosing to grow together.
The hum doesn’t lie.
It reveals how we listen.
How we wait.
How we give space.
How we love.
And these two… are doing the work.
Grateful for this connection.
Taiwan feels closer now.
This is what the hum is about.
Building Healthy Relationships.. through sound, rhythm, and presence.

Sometimes you meet someone who immediately understands an instrument ... not through technique, but through sensitivity.
Marina, a beautiful yoga facilitator at Potato Head Bali, touched the Hum with the kind of presence these instruments love. Soft hands, deep listening, and an intuitive respect for the space the sound creates.
Moments like this remind me that the Hum is not about performance. It is about relationship... with sound, with breath, and with each other.
It is a real honor for me to see these instruments finding their way into the hands of facilitators in the wellness world... people who are holding space for others to regulate, slow down, and reconnect with themselves.
To witness the Hum being used in service of that work is something I deeply appreciate.
Grateful for Marina, and for all the beautiful souls in the wellness community who carry this intention with such care.
Sound.
Breath.
Presence.

Today I want to acknowledge Brother Mike, the official Achelois Hum Ambassador for Bosnia, based in Sarajevo.
Watching how he opens space for people through the hums really moves me.
Mike already carries a beautiful foundation through yoga and presence work, but what inspires me most is how he expands beyond his own practice. He invites other passionate souls to join the space...musicians, movers, creative spirits.
And when that happens, something special appears.
It stops being about one person.
It becomes an ensemble.
A conversation.
A relationship.
For me, this is the real spirit of the Achelois Hum.
Not performance.
Not ego.
But sincerity, listening, and people creating something meaningful together.
Brother Mike, thank you for carrying the hums in Bosnia with such honesty and heart. It’s beautiful to see the sound growing in Sarajevo.
Grateful for this brotherhood.

Yesterday at Konekt Café in Ubud, I met a beautiful German brother, Steffen.
Before touching the Hum, we simply spoke.
We listened to each other’s stories for a while. No rush. Just presence.
When he finally approached the Achelois Hum, I gave him only one direction:
Touch it slowly.
I didn’t have to repeat it.
The way he approached the instrument was so soft, so respectful, so present… it honestly brought tears to my eyes.
You could feel that this was not just someone playing an instrument.
You could feel a man who has done inner work in his life.
The Hum responds to that.
This instrument is not about speed, performance, or impressing people.
It reveals something deeper .. the relationship between the hands, the breath, and the heart.
Moments like this remind me why I created the Achelois Hum Drum.
Thank you, brother, for your presence and your beautiful touch.
Germany might one day have a very special Hum ambassador.

This one means a lot to me.
Brother Julius sharing his first introduction with the Achelois Hum Drums in New York.
No rush.
No pressure.
Just real presence.
Julius is now the official ambassador for NYC and the East Coast... holding the hum energy with integrity, humility, and his own grounded style.
What I appreciate most is that this isn’t about performance.
It’s about everyday people having a place to explore rhythm, breath, and sound in a safe space.
Watching him step into this role feels natural. It aligns with the inner work he has been doing for years. The hum is not something he’s “promoting.” It’s something that fits who he already is becoming.
New York now has a center point.
A home where the Achelois Hum Drum can be experienced, tested, and shared.
We build slowly.
We build clean.
We build through brotherhood.
Grateful for you Kuya (Brother in Tagalog). This is just the beginning.

This is Xiao.
My oldest friend from another chapter of my life.
I’ve seen him when he was shy.
I’ve seen him question himself.
I’ve seen the quiet struggle of low self-esteem that so many of us carry but don’t speak about.
And now… I see a man choosing intuition.
Choosing music.
Choosing self-discovery.
There is something deeply courageous about building your confidence through sound instead of performance.
The Achelois Hum Drum is not about being impressive.
It’s about being honest.
It meets shy souls gently.
It doesn’t demand perfection.
It invites presence.
For anyone walking the path from insecurity to inner rhythm...this is your reminder:
Confidence doesn’t arrive overnight.
It grows each time you dare to play anyway.
Proud of you, brother.

Contact improvisation asks for something rare:
real listening.
Not with the ears —
but with the skin, the weight, the breath.
When the Achelois Hum Drum is played in this space, something shifts.
The tones are not aggressive.
They don’t command.
They invite.
Each harmonic opens space for:
• softer landings
• deeper trust
• slower choices
• honest vulnerability
The Hum doesn’t push the dancers.
It regulates them.
It becomes a shared pulse in the room.
A neutral ground.
A sonic floor beneath the bodies.
Contact improvisation is about responding instead of controlling.
The Hum teaches the same thing.
This is why they belong together.
A marriage of sensitivity and resonance.
Sound guiding touch.
Touch guiding sound.
This is art as relationship.
This is presence in motion.
