Introducing our current Artist-in Residence
Heather Vallance, a studio based visual artist for 30 years in regional NSW, Australia. She has worked in a number of different areas within the Visual arts, Education and Science, often combining these areas. She has a strong interest in the importance of the Arts and its value in the health and wellbeing of communities and especially women. working and teaching within these areas influences my art work and projects she engages with.
Her artwork draws strongly on the natural world and the human figure. She has long been interested in how we are shaped and by how we shape our physical and social environments.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in London, Sydney and regional galleries.
Teaching workshops and programs in regional and city galleries, schools and remote localities. Also involved in many Collaborations with different institutions such as schools, Galleries, Orange Conservatorium of Music, Technical Education, Dept.of Primary Industries, Environmental Groups, Councils and The Corridor Project, Cowra; she has worked on a number of Public Art projects, as well as illustrating a published children’s book and scientific publications on plant and wildlife.
She mainly work in 2D format using drawing materials, mixed media, paint and different printmaking techniques.
