Let’s help to present his research in Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Lecture Series Program that would be held in World Coffee Events 2019, Berlin, Germany.
Radiv Annaba was born in Jember, East Java. He graduated two years ago from International Relations at Paramadina University by wrote a research about “The Effect of Third Wave Coffee towards Coffee Farmers’ Sovereignty through Direct Trade” for his undergraduate thesis.
He began his coffee journey as a part time barista during his college years. His passion and curiosity in coffee industry have been growing for these past 4 years as coffee enthusiast focusing on details about coffee value chain in Indonesia. He also still brew and roast coffee for a friend’s coffee company in Jakarta and Bogor.
SCA Lecture series is a program from SCA held during world coffee event such as World of Coffee Berlin 2019. This program aims to gather coffee experts focusing on coffee research to give more knowledge and broaden perspective for coffee community around the world.
Each year SCA select many lecture proposals to be presented in the world coffee event. And this year in Berlin, Radiv research with the title; “The Effect of Third Wave Coffee towards Coffee Farmers’ Sovereignty through Direct Trade” has been accepted as one of the lectures presented in World of Coffee Berlin 6-8 June 2019. Previously, with the same lecture title, his proposal was also accepted in World of Coffee Amsterdam 2018, and Specialty Coffee Expo Boston 2019. Unfortunately He failed to attend due to lack of budget and sponsors.
The lecture He will present in World of Coffee Berlin will be about how the current third wave phenomena happens in coffee industry could really affect the life of coffee farmers in Indonesia and how direct trade could possibly be the best method to emancipate coffee farmers in this challenging global coffee market.
