Mentawai dan lebih banyak destinasi di Indonesia tidak kekurangan brand yang keren-keren. Bahkan kawasan KEK sekalipun yang disiapkan khusus.

Tidak banyak yang memiliki kekuatan pemasaran/marketing yang panjang, konsisten, dan berkelanjutan.

Cenderung berakhir sebagai slogan.

Mungkin kali ini berbeda. Semoga.

Dalam rangka pembagian hasil evaluasi belajar siswa/i Sekolah Adat Mentawai, sekaligus selebrasi dan penghargaan capaian belajar siswa/i, Yayasan Pendidikan Budaya Mentawai menyelenggarakan acara Pegelaran dan Pertunjukan Seni Budaya Mentawai ke VII.

Penyelenggaraan acara yang akan dilaksanakan pada 23 November 2024 dilaksanakan secara tunggal dengan mitra kolaborasi Indigenous Education Foundation, Komunitas Sinuruk Mattaoi dan seluruh Sekolah Adat binaan YPBM diwilayah Kecamatan seberat selatan.

The Mentawai Cultural Education Foundation: Yayasan Pendidikan Budaya Mentawai (YPBM), a First Nations-led organisation supported by IEF, designs and manages its own Indigenous education programs for young Mentawai students. The Maillepet learning hub, Bubuakat Simalainge’, is one of these hub programs.
In October, students were taught about the cultural significance of the Mentawai Jaraik, an openwork carving including monkey skulls that is hung above the clan house, or ‘Uma’, to ward off evil spirits. In the below photo, we can see the Bubuakat Simalainge’ hub students learning about the elaborate collective ritual of the Jaraik, which ensures its magical efficacy. The manufacture of the Mentawai Jaraik is considered especially difficult and very rarely seen practiced today.

Ranu Welum Foundation - Usada Bali - BALI IIFF 2020

Hearing the stories about Indigenous issues spoken from the heart of the community with a well-documented film will leave an impression. Bali Indigenous Film Festival will give you these unique experiences to watch the 22 Indigenous films and meet directors and Indigenous filmmakers from 13 nations.

Bali International Indigenous Film Festival 2020 is the annual event held to honor and celebrate Indigenous people and pass their wisdom and story to the global community. The festival will be hosted by Usada Bali , presented by Dayak youth organization Ranu Welum Foundation , based in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan and the Togetherness Project based in Bali.
This year, Usada Bali will be hosting the event on December 12-13th December.
