*MEET THE MASCOT OF PICF 2026 “OWA JAWA”*
Before the sun rises, the rainforest already has its own concert.
Deep in the forests of Java lives the Owa Jawa (Javan Gibbon), a remarkable and protected species found only on the island of Java.
And what makes the Owa Jawa the perfect mascot for the *Penabur International Choir Festival (PICF) 2026?*
Its voice. Its harmony. Its connection. 🎶
Owa Jawa families are famous for their distinctive morning songs. Their calls are not simply random sounds, males and females take turns, creating complex vocal sequences that can travel through the forest. Their songs help communicate, mark territory, and strengthen family bonds.
At PICF, voices from different schools, cultures, backgrounds, and corners of the world come together to create one extraordinary celebration of music.
And just like the Owa Jawa rises with the morning chorus, we believe that when we SING our voices together, we RISE together.
SING TOGETHER, RISE TOGETHER.
