Why I use LINODE for my affiliate and dropshipping business as an IT person?
I'm not new to Cloud Service, as I already built some of my clients' system using AWS in the past 3 years. It takes out many problems and costs compare hosting the application on premise.
Recently I start to venture into e-commerce, I feel compelled with stories where people making enough cash by becoming an affiliate marketer or drop shipper :P
So, after I did some research, there are infrastructures that required. First, you need to own a website to target your niche market. Second, you need a funneling system to capture people emails so you can re-target them later.
The industry tells us to use hosting service such as GoDaddy to host your site or Shopify if you don't want to be bothered with manually installing e-commerce systems such as WooCommerce or OpenCart. And to use funneling service such ClickFunnels to capture prospect's email and use email service such as MailChimp to do re-targeting. Great :)
But after I calculate the total cost I need to spent monthly, to start a SINGLE site with that recommendation... I was shocked. Not mentioning I need to use some SEO and Advertising tools (mostly paid service) to help me to market my site and acquiring traffics. So, there is still no guarantee I will make money out of it :(
Since I'm an IT person, I look for alternatives. I installed OpenCart and Mautic to create all required infra in AWS. With configuration: 1 EC2 small, 1 RDS, and 2 Load Balancers (1 for OpenCart site, and 1 for Mautic funneling sys). I thought it would be great that with the same cost, I could create as many sites as I want instead of ONE. But after 3 months, I found that AWS monthly cost (88 USD) vs revenue has become a heavy burden :(
Last week I recreate the infra in Linode, but with a total monthly cost of 20 USD. And it's great... :D
This is a link to my Mautic funneling system installed in Linode: https://a.top1pg.com ... cool :P
There is another service similar to Linode, the Digitalocean. I choose Linode because there are some reviews on the Internet that shows Linode perform more stable compares to Digitalocean (they can be wrong).
Below pics shows 2 of my favorite alternatives to AWS, go ahead CLICK one of them and REGISTER to start your business :) (y)
Note: If you're not an IT person... you need to find a guy like me :D
