"Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement. Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement. Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have been informed of the announcement.”

Phillips, the only son of Princess Anne and her first husband Captain Mark Phillips, was previously married to Autumn Kelly, and they share two daughters, Savannah and Isla. They married in 2008 but separated in 2020. The divorce was settled in 2021. Harriet also has one daughter from a previous marriage, Georgia. Peter and Harriet have been together since 2024.
