Satyan Sita - Epic of Ramayana Inspired by immense strength of the Tejakula people for preserving the culture in it’s sacred form, group of artists decided to make and art exhibition. On 22.

April 2017. Starting at 6 pm, the Photo and Video Exhibition “Satyan Sita” will be open to the public. On the same day, the dance group of Wayang Wong from Tejakula will be performing the “Satyan Sita”, one of the stories from the epic of Ramayana. It will be the unique opportunity to see this dance form, in a style particular for the village of Tejakula, which also got the recognition from UNESCO

for Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016. Inspired by the immense strength and energy of the people from Tejakula for preserving the tradition and culture in it’s pure, sacred form the group of artists decided to make an art exhibition dedicated to the dance form which is kept only in few places in the island of Bali. The exhibition consists of Art and Documentary photos capturing the moments of dance and people during religious ceremonies and dance, as the video documenting this sacred art, masks and people related to this form. The participants of the Exhibition are Doddy Obenk, Tjandra Hutama, Jelena Vuksanovic, Kass Sudrajat, and Stefanus Bayu. The event takes place in Rumah Topeng dan Wayang Setia Darma (The House of Puppets and Masks), and after the opening of the exhibition, it will be open for the visitors for one month. Besides the photo exhibition, visitors of Rumah Topeng dan Wayang will have the opportunity to see the masks of the characters from Ramayana, used in Wayang Wong performances and made by mask maker from Tejakula.
