A great article by The Conversation Global on the disgraceful decisions being made by Adelaide Festival and as authors abandon Adelaide Writers’ Week due to the cancelling of Randa Abdel-Fattah - simply for existing as a Palestinian.

Also worth noting, the board doesn't have a single artist on it.

Value artists and their voices - they are often holding the line when Boards, Directors, and Politicians aren't.

The decision to silence a Palestinian Australian author goes well beyond the standards of the Racial Discrimination Act and ordinary standards of free speech.

“Ora Cool but Okay Lah – A Story of Colors and Quiet Battles”

MG is exceptionally honoured to scream about our colour-blasting joy-bringer, latest exhibition in Bali .

📍 , Denpasar - Bali

🗓️13 Dec 2025 – 9 Jan 2026

Our AD also had the honour of writing the curatorial statement, which was very OK lah when such dynamic art is at play. Read below on what says so beautifully about his upcoming work. If in Bali, don’t miss this.

“The colors may shout, but deep inside each piece there’s a quiet battle — between chaos and calm, humor and doubt.
I’ve always been drawn to this in-between space, where things are both messy and beautiful, both loud and strangely peaceful.

The works in this show are born from that tension. They’re made of papier-mâché, fabric, and soft plush materials — fragile, imperfect, and full of fingerprints.

They carry traces of the things I see and feel living in Bali as an outsider: the mix of colors, shapes, rituals, politics, and stories that somehow all coexist here.

I don’t try to explain them; I just absorb, translate, and retell them in my own visual language.
My sculptures are bright, bulbous, and maybe a bit ridiculous — like they’re laughing at the world but also quietly thinking about it.

They borrow from Balinese textiles, ogoh-ogoh energy, street art, and everyday life.
They’re not about showing what’s “cool,” but about accepting that being not cool can be its own kind of freedom.
So yes — the colors are loud, the forms are playful, the mood is sometimes chaotic.
But underneath all that, there’s something softer: a small sense of peace, honesty, and joy.
Maybe that’s the whole point.
Not calm, not perfect —
just okay lah.”

Meet the music lovers putting Chiang Mai on the sonic map. TEMPO.wav isn't just a collective, they're a movement determined to elevate the Lanna region's music scene from overlooked to unmissable. TEMPO.wav is a decentralized, slow music media platform bringing together music creators from every corner of the community. They're creating a living archive of Chiang Mai's diverse and truly dynamic musical landscape via their (Un)Zine, events, and bi-weekly radio happenings that aren't just shows - they're sonic love letters to a city whose music deserves far more attention. Tune in Wednesdays (5:30-7:30PM GMT+7) or Sundays (1-3PM GMT+7) via Facebook, or catch recordings on Patreon. This is what happens when a community decides its music matters and they collectivise to show you how much.

This initiative is an MG featured project as part of Scaled Spaces - they are doing something awesome to make the world a better place. Check out all 20 initiatives. Click: https://microgalleries.org/scaledspaces
