BE SHARP - PRE CONCERT PERFORMANCE ON SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST

Ahead of the main show with Iskandar Widjaja and Niu Niu we are very happy to announce that in the foyer there will be a pre show performance from the lovely and talented children from BeSharp.

Be Sharp and Padma Resort collaborate through the Padma Musical Series at Padma Resort Legian in Bali, hosting special classical fundraising concerts. These events support the Be Sharp Bali non-profit program, which gives free music lessons and instruments to local children.

Their next fund raiser will be in December with details to follow so this performance will give guests a taste of whats to come later in the year!

On Sunday 30th August, doors and ballroom will open from 6PM and the concert will commence at 7.30PM

CONCERT PROGRAM FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 30TH
Iskandar Widjaja and Niu Niu

We’re very excited to reveal the programme for this month’s highly anticipated performance with Iskandar Widjaja and Niu Niu.

The evening unfolds across two distinct acts, showcasing the remarkable versatility of both artists. The first journeys through classical masterpieces by Kreisler, Corelli, Chopin, Poulenc and Wieniawski, combining elegance, intimacy, drama and dazzling virtuosity.

The second act opens into a more contemporary musical world, blending Beethoven and Bernstein with Ryuichi Sakamoto’s much-loved Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Studio Ghibli favourites, John Legend’s All of Me and a grand finale featuring Golden from KPop Demon Hunters.

A vibrant musical journey across genres and generations, with something for everyone while keeping classical music firmly at its core.

ARTIST PROFILE: NIU NIU 🎹 - Sunday 30th August⁠

Born into a musical family in Xiamen, Zhang Shengliang — known worldwide as Niu Niu — he began performing Mozart at just six years old. By nine, he had become the youngest pianist ever signed to an international classical label!

A Juilliard graduate and PRIX Montblanc laureate, Niu Niu has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including London’s Royal Festival Hall, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall and Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts. His nine albums span classical masterpieces and original compositions, establishing him as one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation.

Now, Niu Niu makes his highly anticipated Bali debut alongside acclaimed violinist Iskandar Widjaja. Their extraordinary technique, expressive artistry and musical chemistry promise an unforgettable evening.

ARTIST PROFILE: ISKANDAR WIDJAJA 🎻 - Sunday 30th August

Described as a “true force of nature” by The Strad and a “rockstar” by The Jakarta Post, Iskandar Widjaja is a world-class violinist whose artistry defies easy categorisation and has always been a crowd favourite with the Padma Musical Series audience.

Born in Berlin to Arab-Dutch and Chinese-Indonesian parents, Iskandar began playing the violin at four and entered Berlin’s prestigious Hanns Eisler Conservatoire as an extraordinary student at just eleven.

Since then, his magnetic stage presence and flawless technique have taken him across five continents, performing with leading ensembles including the Munich Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.

His collaborations extend from classical luminaries such as Zubin Mehta and Christoph Eschenbach to global entertainment figures including David Foster and Anggun.

A classical virtuoso with genuine pop-star appeal, Iskandar has reached more than ten million people through his music videos and online performances.
