The first dark fact stems from his childhood, where he grew up in a large crime family whose entire members were killed in an illegal conflict. The orphaned Leon was rescued by a police officer, an emotional event that motivated him to enroll in the police academy to break the chain of crime.

Another dark fact occurred just before the disastrous night of Raccoon City began, when Leon fell into a deep depression after being dumped by his girlfriend. He escaped to a suburban motel to drink until he passed out. Ironically, this drunken delay on his first day of work was the key factor that saved Leon's life from the massacre that would have befallen his fellow officers in the RPD.

The Secret Behind Resident Evil 9: Requiem's ​​Two Endings.

Resident Evil 9: Requiem features two emotional endings determined by the fate of the Elpis antivirus at the ARK facility. In the Hope Ending (Good Ending), the player chooses to remove the antivirus, which successfully cures Leon S. Kennedy's viral infection. Leon then successfully defeats the main boss, Victor Gideon, using the Requiem Gun, rescues experimental subject Emily, and escapes the collapsing facility with Chris Redfield to continue their lives.

Conversely, the Destruction Ending (Bad Ending) is triggered if the player chooses to destroy the antivirus. This decision triggers the complete destruction of the ARK facility without any major boss battle. Leon, already severely weakened by the infection, ultimately sacrifices himself to save his partner, Grace.
