Dear AsiaLink Sketchwalk ticket holders,

I am sorry to inform you that the refund of your ticket money is delayed as it took some time for the bank to release the funds from an account held by Ms. De Gayantina, the ALSW2021 secretary who passed away in June 2021. We completed this process about three weeks ago.

Our ticketing partner, ticketmelon.com, learned that their bank could not process the refund of a credit card transaction that is more than a year old. Sending your money via bank transfer is not a viable option as it will cost about $30 to send $70 (the average ticket sale amount).

After considering the options available to us, we decided to do the following:
- For ticket-holders with an Indonesian bank account, we will send your money via bank transfer.
- For overseas ticket-holders, we will send your money via PayPal, which will cost you approximately $4.99 + 3.4% + fixed fee, or roughly $8 to send $70 (the average ticket sale amount).

Ticketmelon.com has sent you an email asking for details of either your Indonesian bank account or your PayPal account.

Again, sorry for the delay and the hassle you have to go through.

Dear AsiaLink Sketchwalk: Bandung 2021 participants,

With regret, I inform you that our event, scheduled for September 2021, will be canceled indefinitely due to the current pandemic situation in Bandung that prevents public gatherings and limits mobility.

We will refund all your tickets through our ticketing partner, ticketmelon.com starting mid of August 2021. Unfortunately, we will have to deduct for administration costs of transferring your money to Indonesia and back to you.

We thank all participants, mentors, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers for your invaluable support. We will return our mandate for holding the event to the AsiaLink committee. We hope to see you all soon at a better time.

Bandung Virtual Sketchwalk 2020

Had it not been for the pandemic, we would be sketching in Bandung today. In place of the sketchwalk that is postponed to next year, we're inviting you to come down to Bandung to sketch and gather virtually from 17 to 20 September 2020.

Here's how we'll do it:

Dear AsiaLink Sketchwalk ticket holders,

At the closing of the Refund Period on Tuesday, 1 July 2020, 21.6% of tickets have been canceled. We will send your money back via our partner ticketmelon.com today. There'll be some time needed for banking processes before it arrives at your account.

We understand your reasons for canceling. We thank you and hope you'll be joining us again when the situation permits.

We thank you, ticket holders, who choose to stay, too. Let's make this work, whatever happens. Hope to see you in Bandung next year, in good health and spirit (and masks, face shields, and whatnots). Cheers!

Dear Asialink Sketchwalk Bandung: 2020's ticket holders,

As of today, we do not know when travel and mass gathering restrictions will be lifted in Bandung. We, therefore, have decided to postpone AsiaLink Sketchwalk Bandung to 2-5 September 2021. We hope by then things will be back to (a new) normal.

We advise you to keep your ticket for next year. However, if you would prefer a refund, we have worked out the following procedure:
1. Please refund your ticket via ticketmelon.com during cancellation period from today until 30 June 2020
2. The refund will be processed by ticketmelon.com in the first week of July 2020.
3. The refund is subject to a 6% processing fee.
4. After 30 June 2020, we regret that we will not be able to accommodate any cancellation request.

We appreciate your continuing support. We hope to meet you in Bandung under better circumstances next year.

ALSW Bandung 2020 - Update

Dear Sketchers,

When we opened registration for Asia Link Sketchwalk Bandung 2020 on 25 February 2020, we never imagined that the world we are living in would change so much, especially in regard to travel restrictions and mass gatherings. As we don't know when this situation will end, we believe we owe you an update on ALSW: Bandung 2020.

To date, 392 (78%) Sketchwalk tickets and 145 (66%) Workshop tickets have been sold to sketchers from 18 countries. Thank you for your incredible show of support!

On our part, preparations have slowed down due to travel and meeting restrictions – many meetings with potential sponsors and government authorities were canceled. Now, we only do preparations that can be done from home.

What will happen to ALSW Bandung 2020? By June 2020, we hope we will know whether we could hold our event in September 2020. If we couldn't, the Suwon team has very kindly agreed to let us postpone ALSW Bandung to 2021, and move ALSW Suwon to 2022.

We hope by June, we can offer you to defer your ticket to next year or if you choose to, to offer you a refund. Unfortunately, we will have to deduct for administration costs of transferring your money to Indonesia and back to you.

We will update you as we know more. Stay home, stay safe, and thank you for your continuing support.
