If you know anything about my process, you will know that my compositions begin life months and often years before the canvas is started. I rely heavily on intuition to guide my selection of which sketch to begin and the story behind each artwork is revealed over time.
A few weeks ago i started a new painting and a few days ago i began to understand the story it was trying to tell me. The story of water and the human relationship with it.
Our dependence on it but also our responsibly to maintain it. This is especially true in Bali as it inhabits the foundation of our rituals and ceremonies. It nourishes our bodies, our fields and our spiritual world.
It is obvious with recent floods, pollution problems and land management that WE are failing our responsibility. But will we do anything about it?
This painting may take a few more weeks to complete so lets see how it comes out and how much more of the story is revealed
