Julia got her first inspiration about painting in her childhood when she saw her father during carpenters work drawing ornaments on wood. In her youth she won several competitions for pencil drawing in traditional javanese style. Pencil drawing was for long time her only way to express her artistic talent. After gaining experience for years in other Asia countries, she is now located in Bali. A cl

ose friendship to the famous European art painter Frits Vogel, who;s paintings are very impressive and colorful, inspired her to finally integrate color in to her artistic expression. Now her paintings include many styles, e.g. Landscapes, Still life, Portrait and abstract Paintings in Acryl on Canvas. In her favorite works she is reflecting the javanese culture in portrait like, abstract Paintings. With these very expressive pieces she criticize and embrace her cultural background.
