Did you know that one of the most common apartment problems in Hungary is mold (penész)? Especially during the colder months, warm indoor air + steam from showers + closed windows = the perfect recipe for unwanted green roommates. 😅

💨 Pufi's Survival Tips: ✅ Open your windows for 5–10 minutes every day (yes, even in winter!) ✅ Leave the bathroom door open after showering ✅ Wipe up water from floors and windowsills ✅ Let fresh air circulate through the apartment

⚠️ Important: Many apartments in Pécs have beautiful wooden parquet floors. If water stays on the floor for too long, it can swell, crack, and become damaged. In most rental agreements, tenants may be responsible for repair costs.

Even learning a few simple expressions can help you when shopping, ordering food, asking for directions, visiting offices, or talking to local people in Pécs. 💻 What is Neptun? 🇭🇺

If you study at the University of Pécs or almost any university in Hungary, you will use a system called Neptun almost every day. Neptun is the official online university system where students manage their academic life. 📚

Students use Neptun to: • Register for courses • Check grades and exam results • Pay tuition fees • Receive official university messages • Follow important deadlines and announcements ⚠️

Important: Missing a Neptun deadline can cause serious problems especially during course registration or exam periods. Many university announcements are sent only through Neptun. 📱

Most students check Neptun regularly on both computer and mobile browser to stay updated. 💡

Good tip for new students: save your Neptun code, password, and login information safely from the first day. 🦖 Pufi says: Get used to checking Neptun often it’s one of the most important systems during your university life in Hungary 😄

One of the biggest questions for international students before moving to Hungary is: “How much does student life cost?” The good news? Compared to many European cities, Pécs is considered one of the more affordable student cities in Hungary. 🏡 Housing costs depend on location, apartment condition, and whether you rent a room or a full apartment. Sharing a flat with roommates can help reduce monthly expenses. 🍔 Food prices also depend on your lifestyle. Cooking at home is usually much cheaper than ordering food every day, but apps like Wolt and Foodora are very popular among students. 🚌

Public transport in Pécs is student-friendly, especially if you apply for student discounts at Tüke Busz. 📱

Phone & internet costs vary depending on your provider and package. Most students use prepaid or student-friendly mobile plans. 💡

Important to know: your monthly budget can be very different depending on your lifestyle. Some students live comfortably with around 600€ per month, while others may spend much more.
