-=CHANGES IN SHIPPING OPTIONS=-

As shared in our Facebook and Instagram stories, shipping to a number of European Union member countries will be unavailable for an unknown period.

This decision was made due to the administrative, labour, and regulatory costs associated with the sections of EU Regulation 2025/40 - accepted by both the European Parliament and Council on the 19th of December 2024 -that took effect on the 12th of August 2026, as part of the new PPWR regulations.

The regulations taking effect require vendors and manufacturers to have either a registration in the EPR system of each EU country they ship their products to, or to have an appointed representative in said countries, who handles administrative and legal matters.
Vendors and manufacturers are also required to pay waste handling fees toward said countries, based on the volume of waste their products and packaging of those creates in the country.

Contrary to the claims by many small businesses and entrepreneurs, these regulations did not appear overnight - as described above, the regulations were agreed upon by the governing bodies of the EU and made public as early as 2024, with notifications about upcoming deadlines and required steps constantly communicated towards all registered business entities through official channels.
It's true, though, that technical details about how administrative and financial obligations can be handled weren't fully cleared until recently, and the current requirements can put a considerable administrative burden on smaller companies or private entrepreneurs.

To keep things manageable on our side, we checked back our orders between 2022 and 2026, and decided to temporarily suspend retail activity in countries from which we received very few orders, or none at all.
Countries affected by our decision are:
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Romania

We expect to see some corrections, changes, and simplifications on the technical and administrative side of the regulation in the following months, as this is the pattern new regulations are usually adapted within the EU.
We'll keep an eye on updates and options, and will make shipping available to the affected countries again when we're able to do so.

In early January, Adam had the opportunity to spend a couple of days in Switzerland with the great fellows of The Spadone Project.

While documenting original items and sharing experiences and knowledge based on each other's research, we took on the opportunity to ask Julian and Niccolo if they'd be open to giving us their professional opinion and feedback on the custom greatsword we finished last year.
We're glad they agreed to take a look at the sword and tell us what they think based on the data they gathered so far during their research, about which they generously offered to make a video as well :)
