„I can’t hear my inner me“ the opening line of the song describes a feeling a lot of artists
know. Moments of highs are often followed by a creative stagnation. Running around in
circles trying to find new ideas but none of them work. Nonetheless music gives you
something that lures you to always come back. The lyrics use the figure of the Sirens, from the greek mythology, as a metaphor for this sense of being drawn in. They are calling for you and you can’t resist, although you know that after the high, comes the low.

We developed a great relationship and became fond of each other once they arrived to Budapest and we got a chance to get to know each other properly, but while we were working together online the focus was purely on the song.” - says Rita about the collaboration. Let's look into the moments of Danube Sounds event, join us behind the scenes & songs 👀 So-called "group D" formed the Irish-Romanian-Swedish indie band Dear Elephant and released their first song "Smells Like Thunder" which is played by radios in France, Germany, Greece and Slovakia among others ⛈️

The lyrics is about the long distance friendship between Tove and Eimear who’d known each other online for several years. Tove describes Eimear’s electric personality and the story about how she asked her to join in on a songwriting contest where they could win a trip to Budapest. 🐘🦌

The first month of Danube Sounds EP... 👀

The four summer hit songs of Danube Sounds have been available since the 27th August and already played by radios in France, Lithuania, Austria, Slovakia Greece or Germany and the list goes on... ⭐

The event took place on 29th and 30th of June on A38 Ship - two hot summer days
filled with mentoring, recording, focused work, international bonding and limitless
creativity. These collaborations have opened new paths and possibilities for the artists such as forming a band like or thinking of future featurings. Danube Sounds achieved its goal: it has built strong bridges above borders, demonstrating perfectly how art conquers the limitations of the pandemic.

We couldn't be any more delighted, proud and grateful to these amazing artists who have travelled along with us on this journey. Four amazing international tracks have seen the light, the true gemstones of a new, one of a kind cross-border collaboration. 🌍
