American Corner Budapest

The American Corners (AC) program is a United States Department of State-sponsored initiative inaugurated worldwide more than 10 years ago.

With over 650 Spaces in 150 countries worldwide, American Spaces provide welcoming environments where visitors can connect and learn about the United States through programs and lectures, as well as through books, movies, and magazines. There are almost 400 Corners in 60 countries all around the world under the program. The fundamental function of American Corners is to make information about the

United States available to foreign publics at large. They provide access to current and reliable information about the U.S. via book, video, and DVD collections, the Internet, and through local programming to general public. They serve as regional resource centers for information and programs highlighting American culture, history, current events, and government.

Hello everybody!

We would like to share with you one of the upcoming events of the US Embassy Budapest!😍

October is a time for spooks and frights and everything that goes bump in the night.
🎃 Join them on October 29th at 6 PM to chat with their colleague, Dagny, about haunted houses, gross props, and creepy costumes. They’ll also be making some DIY creepy eyeballs 👁 to complete the Halloween mood!
🧙In order to join this online event, please register by sending an email to [email protected]. Please send them your name and field of interest (work/school) and they will send you further details about the event. Please note that spots are limited and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. The event will be held in English.

Freedom of religion is a cherished American value and a fundamental freedom. It is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution under the First Amendment. In 1998, Congress passed the International Freedom Act to ensure that the U.S. government promotes this fundamental right. This law was later amended to include the freedom of conscious to protect the right not to profess or practice any religion.
There are about 3,000 religious groups in the UnitedStates. James Madison, known as the Father of theConstitution, argued that everyone should be able tochoose their own religion, and this right is enshrined inour Constitution under the First Amendment.

participants and teams for our upcoming European Regional Virtual Zoohackathon, which
will take place November 6-8, with
a separate Global Winners Presentation Session Nov 13-15. It’s a great way for students,
software professionals, and wildlife enthusiasts above the age of 18 to build skills, develop innovative solutions to a global challenge, and
compete for prizes with teams from across Europe and around the world!

of max. 5 people after signing up will go through a pre-selection ( please attach the CV and copy of your ID card for each member of the team) or send it to the [email protected]. For the registration of existing teams, it is important to include

Let us introduce the Embassy's third where you will hear from Security Engineering Officer Phil Babitz about the ins and outs of his field, how he made the switch from the private sector to the government sector, and whether security engineering is any different in Budapest than in other parts of the world. Youth Council member Anna will also ask Phil about what he likes most about living in Hungary, fun experiences in his work, and whether he prefers alpine or cross-country skiing!

Conversation Club at the American Corner Budapest, about an upcoming popular holiday in the US, about Halloween🎃
Although, we could not try trick or treat at the office, we had nice decorations and of course some candies for the participants😍
Thank you for coming!

During the next week we will not have Conversation Club, as it will be an autumn break, but see you on the 4th of November and keep following our page, we are preparing new events and a little surprise for the Halloween!☺️
