Urban art became an educational tool and a way to boost youth participation in Ponferrada (Spain). Students from Concepcionistas Ponferrada, together with ASPAYM Castilla y León , created a collaborative graffiti as part of the European Vega Project (Erasmus+), guided by urban artist ASIER Vera and supported by Gema Blanco, the school’s Arts teacher.

The mural reflects the classroom work carried out beforehand on sustainability, equality, inclusion, and participation, with a special focus on the rural–urban connection: from grey to colour, showing diverse people and services in rural areas. Because when young people are listened to and given tools to express themselves, the result leaves a mark.

✨ The VEGA project gets creative through its artworks!! ✨

After months of workshops, design, and finalization, we are thrilled to announce that the VEGA project artworks are complete! 🎨

At Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. , together with young people, we explored European Youth Goal #8 – Quality Learning, reflecting on what it means today through visual thinking, digital storytelling, and Canva design.

Step by step, ideas turned into artworks that give voice to youth perspectives on learning, society, and education 📚🌍

Very soon, these creations will be revealed in our online virtual exhibition.

And this is only the first step…
In-person exhibition events at KulturCentale in Dresden will follow. 🌍

Stay tuned! Each week we’ll highlight one artwork and the story behind it 👀✨

🎨Today, at the headquarters of our Italian partner CEIPES , the VEGA Project hosted creative workshops with the young artists from Casa degli Artisti, who supported participants in the creation of their own comic strips.

Through hands-on activities and peer exchange, the young participants explored storytelling, visual language, and artistic techniques, using comics as a tool to express ideas connected to the European Youth Goals.

These workshops reflect VEGA’s approach: learning by doing, creativity as a driver for inclusion, and youth empowerment through non-formal education and art.
