Elsősorban a magyarországi kulturális térben tapasztalható diskurzus-hiányokkal foglalkozik: helyzeteket próbál kreálni, konferenciák, szimpóziumok, találkozók formájában, annak érdekében, hogy segítse az önreflexiót, a megértést és a közös cselekvést. újságíró. Mindannyian a művészet olyanfajta felfogásában érdekeltek, ami azt a társadalmi kontextussal foglalkozó, tudatos praxisként gondolja el. A Kritikus Kultúra csoport 2023-ban egy kétnapos konferencia megszervezésével indult, Budapesten. Az esemény a magyarországi illiberális fordulat utáni kulturális politika okozta helyzetet mérte fel, különböző területek képviselőivel. A folytatásban diszkurzív események következtek, majd 2025-ben egy közép-európai szimpozium, amely a reziliencia, az ellenállás és a cselekvés lehetőségeivel foglalkozott. Laza közösség, amely reagálni képes az adott helyzetre, fenntartja a kritika és a disszenzus jogát valamint ragaszkodik az elemzéshez és a megértéshez.

The Critical Culture group is an informal association of three members. The group primarily addresses the lack of discourse in the Hungarian cultural sphere: it attempts to create situations in the form of conferences, symposiums, and meetings in order to promote self-reflection, understanding, and joint action. The backgrounds of the three members are decisive for the group:
Kata Oltai
and
Zsu Zsuró are contemporary art curators,
while
Gergely Nagy is a journalist. All three are interested in a conception of art that considers it to be a conscious practice dealing with social context. The Critical Culture group started in 2023 by organizing a two-day conference in Budapest. The event assessed the situation caused by cultural policy after the illiberal turn in Hungary, with representatives from various fields. This was followed by a series of discursive events and, in 2025, a Central European symposium that addressed the possibilities of resilience, resistance, and action. The Critical Culture group is not an institution or an organization, nor does it want to become one. It is a loose community that is able to respond to a given situation, reserves the right to criticism and dissent, and insists on analysis and understanding.
