Mi, az Atelier 21220 tagjai hiszünk abban, hogy a tánc elemi szükséglete az embernek. Kulturális, társadalmi és politikai különbözőségektől függetlenül, a világ minden táján, minden közösségben jelen van. A tánc különböző színreviteli módozataival kísérletezve olyan egyedi és eredeti előadásokat hozunk létre, amelyek az előadó és a befogadó között húzódó határ eltörlésére törekszenek. Munkánkkal az előadóművészet fogalmának át- és újragondolásával foglalkozunk. Célunk az egyén és a közösség összekapcsolása a tánc ereje által.
Cserepes Gyula, az Atelier 21220 megálmodója, legelső, művészethez kapcsolódó meghatározó élménye képzőművész nagyapja, Csasznyi István szobrászműhelyére (atelier) vezethető vissza. István és Gyula Zentán, az akkori Jugoszláviában születtek, és Óbecsén (a település irányítószáma 21220), a mai Szerbia területén, a Vajdaságban éltek.
Ebben a műhelyben volt Gyula szemtanúja annak, ahogy nagyapja alkotói képzeletében megszületik egy absztrakt koncepció, egy ötlet, azután azt agyagban és gipszben leképezi, majd végső formájában bronzba önti, még mielőtt a közönség előtt bemutatná alkotását. Itt volt alkalma megfigyelni azt, hogyan válik nagyapja teremtménye önálló entitássá, hogyan kel életre és töltődik meg jelentéssel és üzenettel.
Önálló alkotói pályáján haladva Cserepes Gyula felismerte, hogy ez a szobrászműhely indította el őt is a művészi pályán. Ezért az általa alapított előadóművészeti alkotóműhelynek az Atelier 21220 nevet adta.
SZEMLÉLET
Célunk:
· a kortárs előadóművészetek fejlesztése és innovációja;
· állandó rákérdezés arra, mit jelent előadóművésznek lenni az „itt és most”-ban;
· a különböző művészeti ágazatokat képviselő alkotók közötti kapcsolatok és együttműködések ösztönzése a régióban;
· a közönség valós idejű, fizikális tapasztalatára fókuszáló előadások létrehozása;
· a nézők megszólítása a ,,negyedik falon” túl;
· szakmai események szervezése, ahol az érdeklődők találkozhatnak a művészekkel és belekóstolhatnak a munkájukba.

Atelier 21220
ESSENCE
We, the members of Atelier 21220 believe that dance is an essential need of humankind. Regardless of cultural, social or political differences, it is present in every community, all around the world. Experimenting with the possibilities of staging dance, we create unique and original performances, which aim to dissolve the division between performer and spectator. Doing so, we are re-evaluating what performing arts could mean. Our goal is to connect the individual and the community through the power of dancing.
ORIGIN
The very first steps in the field of arts for Gyula Cserepes, the founder of Atelier21220, were made in the sculpture studio (atelier) of his grandfather, sculptor and painter István Csasznyi. Both István and Gyula were born in Senta, former Yugoslavia and lived in Bečej, Voivodina (postal code 21220), present day Serbia.
It was this atelier where Gyula would see an idea – born in the imagination of his grandfather – take shape through clay and plaster and obtain its final form in bronze before the audience would see it. It was in this studio, where he could observe how this creation of his grandfather’s would become an autonomous entity, gaining its own life and message.
While advancing as an author, Gyula Cserepes recognized that it was this sculpture studio, which initiated his artistic career. Therefore, he decided to name the creative studio, which he established: Atelier 21220.
PERSPECTIVE
Our goals:
· development and innovation of the contemporary performing arts;
· constant questioning what it means to be a performer in the „here and now”;
· inspiration of the connection and collaboration of artists coming from various disciplines in the region;
· creation of performances, which focus on the physical experience of the audience in the present moment;
· reaching out to the audience through the „fourth wall”;
· organisation of events where people could meet the artists and try out their disciplines.
