Bartók's spirit.
“My own idea — of which I have been fully conscious since I found myself as a composer — is the brotherhood of peoples, brotherhood in spite of all wars and conflicts
I try to serve this idea in my music; therefore I don’t reject any influence, be it Slovakian, Rumanian, Arabic or from any other source.

Bartók World Competition invite composers under 40 to submit original 6–8 minute long string quartet works inspired by the spirit of Béla Bartók.

Application deadline is 25 August 2026.
