We warmly invite you to the opening of our next exhibition, 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵 by Slovak interdisciplinary artist Jan Durina, on 10 September 2026 at 19:00.

The exhibition deals with the idea of shifting realities, vulnerability, refuge and immersion, all under the watchful eye of nightfall. Leaving behind external expectations, an intuitive process emerges throughout the realisation of the exhibition, bringing together the longing for plainspoken aesthetics, eroticism and tenderness, contemplating care and exhaustion and the closeness of the burdens of the self. Eventually, the night becomes a symbolic territory in which another form of attention can emerge.

Jan Durina (*1988, Žilina, Slovakia) is a Slovak interdisciplinary artist, musician, curator and researcher based in Prague, and co-founder of the performance collective Romeo & Hellion. His work moves fluidly between photography, drawing, performance and sound, exploring loneliness, vulnerability, and the boundaries between nature, the body and identity, grounded in q***r, feminist and ecofeminist thought.

🪑🕸️ Barbara Gocníková: Broken Altar (Isolation of Father)

„Mindannyian egy lakoma maradékai vagyunk, ahol szüleink laktak jól.” — Babarczy Eszter: Apám meghal (Jelenkor, 2025)

Egy lakoma, ahol az asztal mint hangtalan szemlélő a családi történések ismerős, mégis megfejthetetlen színtere. Egy tárgy, amely őrzi emlékeink lenyomatát: ki hol ül, ki kivel beszél, ki mit tesz le rá, vagy vesz el róla, és ki hogyan kapcsolódik a személyekhez és az eseményekhez, amelyek meghatározzák mindennapjait. Egy tér, ahol generációkon át ismétlődő gesztusok, mondatok és hallgatások rakódnak egymásra. Egy mementó, amelyben a fizikai közelség nem feltétlenül jelent szellemi és érzelmi jelenlétet.

„We are all the leftovers of a feast at which our parents had their fill.” Eszter Babarczy: Apám meghal (Jelenkor, 2025)

A feast where the table, as a silent witness, becomes the familiar yet unfathomable stage of family life. An object that preserves the imprint of our memories: who sits where, who speaks to whom, who places something on the table or takes something from it, and how each person relates to the others and the events that shape everyday life. A space where gestures, phrases and silences are layered upon one another across generations. A memento that reminds us that physical proximity does not necessarily imply emotional or mental presence.

A Keszegh Ágnes kurátori közreműködésével megvalósuló kiállítás a család öröklött mintáit és hatalmi viszonyait vizsgálja az apa figuráján keresztül. A lírai hangvételű, multiszenzorális installáció a személyes emlékezetet a kelet-európai történelmi tapasztalatok tágabb összefüggéseivel kapcsolja össze.

Curated by Keszegh Ágnes, the exhibition explores inherited family patterns and power relations through the figure of the father. Through a lyrical, multisensory installation, Gocníková intertwines personal memory with the broader historical experience of Eastern Europe, inviting viewers to reflect on the connections between intimate family narratives and collective histories.
