"The Art of the Box Art” exhibition is now open at the Video Game History Museum! 🕹️

As physical video games gradually disappear, this temporary exhibition looks at how games were presented through packaging and covers over the decades. Original covers, cartridges, optical media, printed manuals, and memorabilia let visitors explore how these physical elements shaped the experience of playing and owning a game.

A selection from the exhibition can also be seen at this year’s Zagreb Design Week. The museum returns to the festival after receiving prestigious recognition for its interior design at last year’s edition. 🏆

Remember Frogger? 🐸🎮

Released in arcades in 1981 by Konami and Sega, the game quickly became an icon of gaming and pop culture. The challenge was simple: guide a frog through a world filled with danger, from busy roads with heavy traffic to a fast-moving river.

The game even made its way into Seinfeld, where George Costanza goes to great lengths to save his Frogger high score. 🐸🏆

Meet the adorable and not scary at all monsters at our museum! 🎶 👾

Our exhibition features My Singing Monsters, the beloved video game franchise developed by Big Blue Bubble, the studio founded by Damir Slogar, who later went on to establish the Video Game History Museum.

We’re proud to have these charming monsters as part of our museum and to celebrate this masterpiece of Canadian game development with our visitors. 🇨🇦 🎮
