“Istria Folk Fest” is an International Folklore Festival held in Croatia, specifically in Istrian region in the towns of Buje, Novigrad and Umag. The first festival was held in 2016, and since then, the festival has been visited by numerous folk groups from all around the world. The organizer of the festival is the Cultural organization Croatia Folk Fest, which, in addition to this festival, organ

izes two other festivals, the "Adriatica Folk Fest" held in the cities of Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski, and the "Zagreb Folk Fest" held in Zagreb

[𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗷𝗲]
An incredible 7 groups arrived this time from Slovakia, Latvia, Hungary and Poland. They will show their traditions and folk customs on two stages in two beautiful towns in Istria. On Thursday, August 22, be with us on the main square in Novigrad (Visit Novigrad Cittanova) from 8:30 PM and on Friday, August 23, in Buje, where the festival begins at 8:00 PM in the atrium of POU Buje. Come and join us because the best summer folklore festival awaits you!
Participating groups are: TREJDEVINI (Latvia), BYSTRANČAN (Slovakia), TATABANYAI BANYASZ TANCEGYUTTES (Hungary), CSALLOKOZI (Slovakia), BALOŽI (Latvia), ZIEMIA BYDGOSKA (Poland), PECENICAN (Slovakia).

Everything is ready for the second term of this year’s Istria Folk Fest. Performances will take place in the Istrian towns of Grad Umag - Città di Umago (July 25) and Visit Novigrad Cittanova (July 26), where groups from Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lithuania and Poland will showcase their cultural customs and traditions. The festivals in both cities start at 9 p.m., so get ready and come join us because the best summer folklore festival awaits you!

𝗦𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗭𝗢𝗞𝗜 / 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱
A Polish group that brings together more than 200 children and teenagers aged 5 to 23 years. They will delight you with their dances and beautiful folk costumes. They have performed in numerous countries across Europe.

𝗞𝗥𝗔𝗞𝗢𝗪𝗜𝗔𝗞 / 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱
One of the largest youth folk groups in Poland, founded in 1985. It has over 500 members organized into 24 artistic ensembles. The group is known for its vibrant performances and impressive number of awards. One thing is certain – folklore is their passion!

𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔 / 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱
This brass band from Poland gathers young musicians aged 14 to 30. They play everything from jazz, folk, and pop to rock. They are most inspired by performing on big stages.

𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗨𝗡𝗞 / 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆
This group focuses on creating “modern traditionalism”, blending values from the past with the challenges of the present. With 150 members, they nurture Hungarian customs and dance and music traditions. Their performance will surely impress you!

𝗣𝗔𝗩𝗟𝗬𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗞𝗢 / 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮
The Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble is a dynamic Ukrainian dance company based in Canada. This exciting troupe of young, dedicated dancers can stimulate nostalgia, create a comedic scene, dazzle you with intricate high velocity footwork, and amaze you with their lyrical quality.

𝗖𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗟 / 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆
The Csepel Society brings together children aged 6 to 16, introducing them to unique Hungarian traditions and folk dances. Their performances have received numerous awards both in the country and abroad.

This time, six groups from Hungary, Poland, and Canada will present their folk customs and tradition. Join us on July 4 at the stage in Buje, where the festival begins at 9:00 PM in the atrium of POU Buje. On the second day, July 5, our caravan moves to Novigrad, where the concert starts at 9:00 PM on the main square Veliki trg/Piazza Grande.
