Ilustracijom do grafičkog dizajna

Radionica „Ilustracijom do grafičkog dizajna” kroz praktičan rad na izradi plakata upoznaje polaznike s osnovama grafičkog oblikovanja. Polazište je omiljeno umjetničko djelo svakog sudionika, koje se reinterpretira pomoću ručnih tehnika poput ilustracije i kolaža, bez oslanjanja na digitalne efekte i složene alate.

Radionica započinje odabirom teme i vježbom asocijativnog crtanja, nakon čega polaznici definiraju boje, teksture, simbole i druge vizualne elemente koji najbolje prenose atmosferu i karakter odabranog djela. U završnoj fazi eksperimentiraju s kompozicijom te odabrane elemente organiziraju u cjelovito rješenje plakata.

Cilj radionice je približiti osnovna načela grafičkog dizajna kroz pristupačan i intuitivan proces te pokazati kako ilustracija, simbol, boja i kompozicija mogu sažeti i jasno prenijeti vizualnu poruku u dvodimenzionalnom formatu.

For 70 years, ARTISAN has been shaping solid wood into furniture defined by craftsmanship, precision and respect for the material.
Rooted in Bosnia’s woodworking tradition, the company combines generations of knowledge with contemporary design, working with international designers to create pieces that are simple, refined and made to last.
At Zagreb Design Week 2026, ARTISAN presents a selection of its latest furniture, including the Nila Lounge Collection, designed by Regular Company, alongside the Nila Shelf, Column Table and Column Coffee Table.
The Nila collection balances a precise wooden structure with soft, organic forms, upholstery, leather and subtle metal details. The Column tables take inspiration from architectural forms, transforming solid European wood into sculptural yet functional pieces.
For ARTISAN, wood is more than a material: it is a living element that gains character over time. Each piece is responsibly sourced, carefully handcrafted and designed to be lived with for generations.

Lufta × Center Rog

Ljubljana-based design studio Lufta presents its first product — a seven-metre-long inflatable bench designed for public spaces.
Lufta’s Croatian premiere is organised in collaboration with the creative centre Center Rog, where the Lufta collective has been based in one of the project studios for the past three years. There, it also uses the shared production infrastructure, which includes nine labs, equipment, technologies and professional support for development and prototyping.
The bench is in everyday use on the terrace of Center Rog. It was not conceived as an installation, but as a mobile piece of furniture for public space — for sitting, lying down, working, talking and informal gatherings. During Zagreb Design Week, visitors will be able to use it as part of the garden, where installations, workshops, lectures and concerts will take place.
The bench is seven metres long and 1.6 metres wide. Despite its size, it can be deflated in just ten minutes and packed into a compact bundle, transforming its scale into temporary, easily transportable infrastructure.
The development of the bench took almost three years and closely reflects this year’s theme, Friction. The project began as an idea for the marine industry, went through dozens of unsuccessful prototypes and ultimately resulted in a new application of “drop-stitch“ technology, a material most commonly associated with inflatable SUP boards.
The result is an object that explores the limits of material, mobility and the ways in which we shape shared space.

Contemporary Croatian Ceramics in 10 Authorial Approaches

Zagreb Design Week presents contemporary Croatian ceramics through the work of ten women artists from different generations, ranging from functional objects to autonomous sculpture.
One of the oldest media for shaping objects, ceramics has become increasingly visible in contemporary design and art. Trace of Resistance explores this space between function, experimentation and sculpture as part of this year’s Zagreb Design Week theme, Friction.
The exhibition brings together Marina Badurina, Lidija Boševski, Karolina Bumbak, Martina Karla Franić, Jana Grgasović, Pamela Ivanković, Nataša Ninić, Nika Pavlinek, Katarina Trpčić and Željana Vidović. Their approaches differ in technique, experience and aesthetics, yet together they reveal the breadth of what ceramics can be today.
Familiar forms are distorted and reassembled; clay is combined with other materials; traces of the hand, irregularity and the unpredictability of firing become part of the work. Vessels shift between use and sculpture, while traditional techniques meet experimentation, natural forms, recycled clay, minerals, colour and glaze.
The connection with Friction is almost literal. Clay yields to touch while resisting it: pressure changes its form, water softens it, drying contracts it and firing transforms it in ways that can be guided but never fully controlled.
Trace of Resistance does not ask whether ceramics belongs to design, art or craft. Instead, it shows that its strength may lie precisely between these categories – where function meets symbolism, control meets chance and the resistance of the material becomes part of the work.

Dobre ribe rade zine

Kreativna radionica izrade zineova u mixed media tehnici. Koncept „Dobre ribe” polazi od ideje da je riječ o stanju uma, neovisnom o spolu, te sudionike potiče na istraživanje vlastite kreativnosti, osobnog izraza i vizualnog pripovijedanja.

Osnovni medij radionice je kolaž, koji se nadopunjuje tekstilom, pastelama, vodenim bojama, markerima, sprejem i drugim materijalima. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na ponovnu uporabu: stare novine, časopisi, križaljke, ostaci papira i drugi pronađeni materijali dobivaju novi život kroz proces rezanja, kombiniranja i oblikovanja.

Radionicu vodi grafička dizajnerica Laura Ljubić, dok je za glazbu i kreativnu atmosferu zadužen Marin Eckhel. Sudionici su pozvani da „doplivaju” do Ilice 85 i kroz opušteni proces izrade stvore vlastiti zine.

Final Fashion Show

From the first idea to a collection on the runway – all within a single academic year.
The Profokus Final Fashion Show is one of the key projects within the school’s creative programmes, bringing together knowledge, talent and practical experience in a complete fashion production.
The runway features students from the first, second and third years of the Fashion Design programme. Within a relatively short period, they go through the entire creative process – from initial sketches and pattern construction to producing their own garments and original collections ready for the runway.
But the show is not solely the work of fashion design students. It also brings together students from the Fashion Styling, Make-up Artistry and Hair Styling programmes, who work together to create the complete visual identity of each runway presentation – from styling and make-up to hair and the final presentation.
The result is a professional fashion production presented by Profokus, showcasing the work of its students.
This is why the show best represents what Profokus stands for: intensive practical work, creative collaboration and knowledge that, within a single academic year, develops into a serious, visible and professional result.

The “OFF BALANCE” collection explores the coexistence of contrasting identities within a single person. Through the combination of streetwear, lace, tailoring precision, asymmetry and exposed construction details, this duality is given full expression without requiring either side to dominate.

Oversized and fitted silhouettes, soft and structured materials, and traditionally masculine and feminine dress codes are brought together within the same looks. This considered imbalance is not accidental, but forms the collection’s central design language and distinctive signature.
