Artisan is built on a tradition of master craftsmanship, where skilled artisans have spent seventy years shaping solid wood into timeless furniture with authenticity and precision. Each piece embodies a deep respect for nature, the beauty of organic materials, and the enduring value of handcrafted design. The philosophy of Artisan is rooted in the belief that furniture should be more than functional, it should tell a story. Collaborating with visionary designers, they explore new forms while preserving the integrity of traditional woodworking techniques. This fusion of innovation and heritage results in furniture that is aesthetically refined and created to last for generations.

A world premiere: chair Knap.

Nunc proudly unveiled the Knap chair to the public for the first time, designed by the renowned Neisako studio. The Knap chair was born from the idea of measure and balance—that precise moment when everything was perfectly poised and harmonious. Through this project, Neisako once again demonstrated its signature design language: the simplicity of refined lines, clarity of concept, and a lightness that made the design timeless.
The brand’s creative direction was shaped by artistic director Nikola Radeljković, whose experience and vision gave Nunc a unique identity. His artistic direction bridged tradition and modernity, ensuring that every piece of furniture carried a clear aesthetic and conceptual value.
The presentation of the Knap chair at ZGDW was another significant step forward for Nunc—an opportunity to show how local production and design could be relevant on the international stage, allowing the audience to recognise the quality emerging from Slavonia and Croatia.

Svjetska premijera stolca Knap

Kreativni smjer brenda oblikuje umjetnički direktor Nikola Radeljković, čije iskustvo i vizija daju Nuncu jedinstveni identitet.

Ines Vlahović’s latest project centres on her favourite material—seagrass.

At Bačvice Beach, a well-known tourist destination in Croatia, large amounts of seagrass wash ashore each year. The local environmental association Picigin Bačvice regularly cleans the beach to maintain outdoor activities, including picigin, an indigenous ball game played in the sea.A range of products made from dried seagrass forms part of the interior of the nearby Café Voga, with a share of the proceeds donated to the association that collects the seagrass. The project aims to reveal the value of seagrass as a rich natural material and to involve local residents in activities that increase the use of this resource, benefiting both people and the environment.

The newly founded Studio Onye has unveiled its latest project.

Lumino Porcelain is a series of porcelain lamps and shallow vessels cast as thin as 2 millimetres, allowing light to pass through the material itself. Each element is mounted on a 3D-printed base housing the light source, making the object both a functional lamp and a sculptural artefact. The project probes the limits of porcelain as a material — particularly its often-overlooked translucency. Owing to its crystalline structure, porcelain can transmit light when cast sufficiently thin, while still retaining strength and stability. The inner surface of each piece carries shallow reliefs, while the outer remains clean and minimalist. When illuminated, variations in wall thickness cause hidden imagery to emerge from within. This differential translucency reveals the visual content only when the object is active, making light a key element of the narrative. The work examines the interplay between digitally generated supporting structures and traditional ceramic techniques. The fusion of hand-crafted forms with contemporary technology highlights the potential of an interdisciplinary approach to designing luminous objects and challenges conventional perceptions of fragile materials.

Linda Baissero, an Italian of Croatia and a winner in two categories of the 2025 ZGDW Award, is a perfect fit for this exhibition. Onda is a student project developed at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano under the supervision of Prof. Kuno Prey, PhD, Francesco Sommacal.

Onda—Italian for “wave”—is a tool for cutting and shaping gnocchi, inspired by the form of scallop shells. Baissero noticed a striking similarity between two different objects: the scallop shell and the tool her grandmother uses to shape gnocchi. Unlike the classic wooden boards, her tool is made of corrugated steel and, with its undulating form and sharp edge, recalls scallop shells. This analogy led Baissero to design a new gnocchi-preparation tool that combines a cutting knife and a shaping board in a single piece. By uniting two functions in one and drawing on forms from nature, Onda brings together aesthetics and functionality.

A homage to the Memphis Group by Design Studio Pi.

The ceramic series Memphis Made Me Do It is inspired by the radical aesthetics of the Memphis design group, which redefined the very notion of design in the early 1980s. In opposition to functionalism and the solemnity of modernism, Memphis celebrated colour, pattern, ornament and playfulness. In that spirit, this series explores ceramics as a space for free expression — through vivid matte glazes, unusual forms, rhythmic compositions and emphatically decorative elements. Each piece is conceived as a small manifesto of joy, irony and individuality.
Ceramics — a medium known for silence and function — here becomes loud and visually playful. The objects step outside the expected and embrace dissonance: form without rules, colour without fear, and ornament without apology.
This series is not a replica of the Memphis style, but Pamela Ivanković’s personal dialogue with its spirit — a reflection on the relationship between design and everyday life, allowing ceramics to be both functional and fun, both serious and witty. In a time that often calls for reduction, Memphis Made Me Do It invites visual and conceptual expansion.
