Teo Harouda

Teo Harouda DJ / Producer Teo Harouda is a dominant force in
Southeast europe techno. Techno with blurred borders from the other Europe.

Originally from Croatia, he appeared at all the clubs and festivals in his country and the neighbouring ones, and is one of the most important DJs in this area. And, although what he plays is undoubtedly pure techno, his sessions have a special colour because of the expert way he mixes different styles ranging from the most melodic techno to industrial sounds, including techno loop and everything in between.

When and .dns joined forces, the result wasn't just another techno release.

British MurderBoys became one of the darkest and most uncompromising projects to emerge from the UK underground. Their sound fused industrial textures, relentless rhythms and raw Birmingham techno into something that still feels unique more than two decades later.

Many fans still consider "Death Before Surrender" one of Surgeon's finest productions, while this release remains an essential chapter in the history of Downward Records. πŸ–€

The title Betty Ford wasn't chosen by accident.

It's a reference to the famous Betty Ford Center in the US. Alter Ego intentionally paired that ironic title with one of the most hypnotic and uncompromising techno tracks of its era.

Built from a heavily manipulated Human League sample and a distorted Korg bassline, Betty Ford became one of the defining club records of 2000.

The track was also frequently played by Sven VΓ€th throughout 2000, helping it become a true techno classic. πŸ–€

Did you know?

Many people know through aliases like Sterac, Parallel 9 or Ignacio, but fewer know that Scorp was another of his projects. Between 2000 and 2004, he released a small series of stripped-back, hypnotic techno records under the Scorp name on his own label.

Years later, the Belgian label Token even compiled the entire Scorp catalogue, proving how influential and timeless this project really was.

Aphex Twin and Daft Punk couldn't be more different.

One constantly pushed the boundaries of electronic music through experimentation. The other redefined dance music with timeless grooves and unforgettable melodies.

Both left a massive mark on electronic music and continue to inspire generations of artists.

So... what happens when a record somehow captures a little bit of both?
