Živi Atelje DK "Živi," or Living, refers to a living organism that develops, communicates, adapts itself and shapes the environment.

We are an independent self-organized collective, registered as an NGO seeking to promote art as an educational tool and mode for activism, and to preserve Vera Dajht-Kralj's art heritage. "Atelje," or Atelier, is a center of creation, experiment, camaraderie and collaboration. "DK" refers to the initials of the surname of the artist and academic sculptor, Vera Dajht-Kralj, whose collection of artw

ork—her physical and creative heritage—represents inspiration and the axel around which we base our activities. We are an independent, interdisciplinary, non-governmental and non-profit organization focused on support of and cooperation with young artists, exploration of understanding of otherness, inclusion of the public through and into art locally and internationally, and preservation and promotion of Vera's heritage.

Touch and Let It Disappear

U četvrtak, 10. 9., od 14 do 18 h, u Živom ateljeu DK (Ilica 110), naša umjetnica u rezidenciji iz Češke Jana Švecová predstavit će performativnu instalaciju Touch and Let It Disappear.

Jana u svom radu povezuje suvremeni cirkus, pokret, prostor i vizualnu umjetnost, a posebno je zanimaju neverbalna komunikacija, ritam i različiti načini povezivanja s drugima.

U instalaciji će posjetitelji moći zastati, igrati se, slati poruke konopcem, ostaviti vlastitu poruku ili jednostavno provesti trenutak u prostoru. Instalacija će završiti kratkim performansom u 18 h.

Svratite i pogledajte što se može dogoditi kada poruku prepustimo konopcu.

Touch and Let It Disappear

On Thursday, September 10, from 2 to 6 PM, our Czech artist-in-residence Jana Švecová will present a performative installation Touch and Let It Disappear at Živi Atelje DK (Ilica 110).

Jana’s practice brings together contemporary circus, movement, space and visual art, with a particular interest in non-verbal communication, rhythm and different ways of connecting with others.

Visitors will be invited to pause, play, send messages along a string, leave a message of their own, or simply spend a quiet moment in the space. The installation will end with a short performance at 6 PM.

Come by and see what can happen when we let a message travel along a string.

Touch and Let It Disappear – radionica pokreta i igre s konopcem

U četvrtak, 3. 9., u Živom ateljeu DK, naša umjetnica u rezidenciji iz Češke, Jana Švecová, vodila je besplatnu radionicu pokreta i igre s konopcem za članove i članice Ateljea.

Radionica se temeljila na vježbama iz novog cirkusa i manipulaciji konopcem. Kroz pokret, jednostavne figure s konopcem, neverbalnu komunikaciju i igru sjenama istraživali smo percepciju prostora i vremena.

Touch and Let It Disappear – movement and string figures workshop

On Thursday, September 3, our artist-in-residence from the Czech Republic, Jana Švecová, led a free movement and string figures workshop for members of Živi Atelje DK.

The workshop was based on new circus exercises and string manipulation. Through movement, simple string figures, non-verbal communication and play with shadows, we explored the perception of place and time.
